Zendaya’s Cone Mask at Odyssey Red Carpet Has Fans Doing a Double Take

Zendaya tapped into the Grecian influence for The Odyssey's Paris photocall July 7, wearing a vintage Givenchy dress and Philip Treacy mask inspired by Greek myth.

Zendaya Is a Vision in White Form-Fitting Breastplate Gown for The Odyssey Premiere

Zendaya proved once again that she is a goddess among mere mortals.

The Odyssey star’s latest fashion endeavor clearly emerged fully formed from stylist Law Roach’s mind, with Zendaya donning a vintage Givenchy Haute Couture dress from their spring/summer 1997 collection designed by Alexander McQueen and a headpiece by Philip Treacy for the film’s July 7 photocall in Paris.

And, as her gown was originally from a Jason and the Argonauts-inspired collection titled “The Search for the Golden Fleece,” it only made sense for Zendaya and Roach to bring the look around nearly 30 years later for Christopher Nolan’s take on the Greek epic The Odyssey, in which Zendaya stars as Athena.

The 29-year-old opted to wear the look exactly as it was shown on the runway, with the form-fitting white dress featuring padded shoulders and large, cuff sleeves. She, of course, paired the look with her go-to Christian Louboutin So Kate heels in white, along with jewelry from Fope.

But certainly the pièce de résistance was the Treacy mask, which was also original to the runway. The intricate gold mask began at her cheeks with a design that made its way up her face, reaching a cone-shaped point above her head.

And fans could not get enough of the look—especially as Zendaya posed in it in front of the Eiffel Tower.

“We need a second bro. Honestly, it’s tooooo much!” one fan commented on Roach’s July 7 Instagram post about the look. Another wrote, “The headpiece in front of the eiffel tower !!!! are u kidding!!!!”

As one user put it, “You’ve….simply set the bar too high. I audibly gasped.”

The fashion moment was clearly a perfect collaboration for the stylist and his muse, with one Instagram fan writing, “Mannnn who else is doing it like these two?? Manifesting this kind of work relationship in my artist life.”

And that relationship is one that he and Zendaya—who recently wed costar Tom Holland—have cultivated since their early days working together.

“Our relationship is so symbiotic that it could be one dress, it could be a thousand dresses,” he told E! News in March of sifting through fashion choices with the Euphoria actress. “You just never know.”
