When it comes to open-world games, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is considered one of the best thanks to the heaps of content stored within its stunning map. However, if you are more a fan of the survival genre and titles such as Valheim, this upcoming action-adventure RPG combines the best of both worlds with both a stunning open-world and survival mechanics.

It may not have a full release date, but Guardians of the Wild Sky is available to check out now, at absolutely no cost.

From Blue Isle Studios, Guardians of the Wild Sky is guaranteed to bridge the gap between The Legend of Zelda entries by taking players to a world clearly inspired by the Nintendo series. Now, ahead of its full launch, a free demo for Guardians of the Wild Sky is now available courtesy of Steam, giving players access to just some of what the full game has to offer.

While the full game spans 800+ square kilometers, this slice is designed to showcase exploration, building, and progression without holding the experience back. Once you build a ship, you’re free to set sail in any direction, discovering new islands and points of interest as you choose.

The demo will include the chance to play either single-player or co-op modes and the ability to create custom worlds with an 8-hour play window. If you wish to keep playing after this time, you will have to create a brand-new world, but of course, this is only a demo feature, and you will not be limited in the full release.

Additionally, the Guardians of the Wild Sky demo features character progression up to level 20, multiple islands to explore, a wide range of weapons and combat styles to master, most building types unlocked, and the full survival crafting gameplay loop. Put simply, the demo features everything you will need to try out the game ahead of its launch and is not locked to a simple 60-minute preview like many other demos.

With the demo aiming to "introduce the game’s core systems and capture the sense of adventure, creativity, and discovery", it is not one to miss out on, especially if you are eyeing up that full release for Guardians of the Wild Sky.
