Zac Efron dressed to impress as he filmed scenes for the upcoming A24 project, Famous, in Los Angeles on Friday.

The High School Musical star, 37 - who has been keeping busy on set of the new movie this month - could be seen getting into character outside of a home while joined by co-star, Ernie Hudson.

Efron sported a 50s-inspired gray suit which was paired with a white dress shirt and a brown, patterned tie.

He additionally slipped into a pair of sleek, black shoes and carried a black briefcase in his hand.

Zac also opted for a short haircut while filming a portion of the feature - which is directed by Jody Hill.

It was revealed earlier this year in July that he was cast in the movie and teaming up with A24 once again following his performance in The Iron Claw, which released in December 2023.

Hudson - who is known for starring in the Ghostbusters franchise - also sported a retro look wearing a brown jacket as well as a pair of tan slacks and brown shoes.

Zac and Ernie were spotted holding a lighthearted conversation in between takes of a scene that seemingly took place in the front yard of a Los Angeles house.

Other crew members could be seen standing nearby on a porch as they prepared to film the two stars.

Famous is based on the novel of the same name written by Blake Crouch - who is also known for penning Dark Matter.

The former Disney channel star plays dual roles in the film, including a Hollywood heartthrob named James Jansen and a fan, Lance Dunkquist.

The premise is: 'Lance Dunkquist has the face of a movie star. Not just any movie star - Lance has been mistaken for Hollywood star James Jansen 228 times.'

'And now Lance is about to go to LA to make his dream come true. No matter what it takes,' per an official IMDB synopsis.

Two months earlier in September, it was announced that Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor had joined the cast, per Deadline.

Earlier this month, Efron was also spotted seemingly filming another scene for Famous. He sported a similar hairstyle to his character of Troy in High School Musical.

Zac's ensemble was in stark contrast to the suit he wore on Friday - and had donned a plain white shirt as well as gray sweats.

The actor held a serious expression on his face during a scene, but later flashed a big smile as he talked to one of the crew members in between takes.

Most recently, Efron starred in the Netflix romantic comedy, A Family Affair, along with Nicole Kidman and Joey King.

The movie hit the streaming site during the summer in June - but received mixed reviews from critics.

Zac also portrayed Kevin Von Erich in A24's The Iron Claw, which gained positive reception and currently holds a score of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

During an interview with Deadline earlier this year in January, the actor opened up about the next steps in his career and future roles.

'I'm looking for directors with a real story to tell, and a perspective, and a group around them that is as committed, [where] their commitment is as strong as mine to give the audience a reason to see the film.'

He added, 'I'll definitely be more selective, I think, in the best ways. This is why I've always wanted to make movies.'

'I view it more as a responsibility now, and I think that's just naturally going to make me more selective moving forward. And it does take a lot out of you. So, I think less is more in these moments.'

Efron later expressed, 'I really enjoy working with directors that have a vision and that can guide. I can't pick a genre or a style of film that would be the most appealing next.'

'I just know whatever one it's going to be, and I love all of them, I just want it to feel real and authentic, and be able to commit wholly to it.'

Zac's latest dual roles in Famous comes just three months after he was hospitalized while swimming at a lavish villa in Ibiza in August.

He broke his silence soon afterwards by uploading an Instagram photo of himself exercising outdoors while shirtless. The star simply penned, 'Happy and Healthy, thanks for the well wishes.'

Insiders later told TMZ that Efron had dove into the pool while with friends and upon doing so, ingested a large amount of water into his lungs.

The High School Musical 'showed signs of distress' afterwards and also appeared to be 'momentarily dazed.'

Once security officials had rushed to Efron, he was then taken to a hospital 'as a precautionary measure.'

After undergoing X-rays to ensure that his lungs were clear of water - Efron was medically cleared by doctors at the facility.
