From Star Wars to Marvel, The Last of Us, and more, Pedro Pascal is one of the most famous and in-demand actors working today. Everyone loves him. Everyone wants a piece of him. And soon, you can own not just a piece; you can own the whole damn thing.
Hot Toys just revealed it’s turning Pascal’s Last of Us character, Joel Miller, into a 6th scale collectible, and it’s got it all. Pedro’s good looks. Pedro’s good hair. Pedro’s “separate rolling eyeballs.” It lacks Pedro’s fashion sense because Joel Miller is more about function than fashion, but the figure is still fully equipped to survive a zombie apocalypse. Check out some images.
You can see more photos of the figure and pre-order it at this link. It costs $285.
Now, if we’re being brutally honest about this figure, of course it looks like Pedro Pascal, but something is slightly off. “You know those face mashup things they used to do of like, ‘Here’s every actor to ever play James Bond as one person?'” io9 editor James Whitbrook commented. “He looks like Pedro and Liam Neeson got facemashed into Hugh Jackman circa Logan.” Which is hilarious but also true. The likeness is so close, but it’s not quite there. Most would forgive it, but this is Hot Toys. All the photos mention this is a prototype and there could be changes before release. So maybe the company will dial it in later.
Either way, though, for Pascal fans, but especially Last of Us fans, this is a nice way to commemorate a memorable, unforgettable character. One that, sorry TV fans, is not coming back.
And while this is a very nice figure, we are most excited to see what Hot Toys does with the next Pedro Pascal. The one that stretches. That will be very, very interesting.
