Julia Stiles and Vanesa Carlton put on an affectionate display at a screening of Wish You Were Here in New York City on Wednesday evening.

The entertainment industry vets, who both enjoyed success in the early aughts, posed together on the red carpet after working together on the feature film.

Julia, 43 — who recently made a rare comment about her late 10 Things I Hate About You co-star Heath Ledger — is making her directorial debut with the movie, which stars Isabelle Fuhrman, Mena Massoud, Jimmie Fails, Jennifer Grey, and Kelsey Grammer

And Vanessa, 44 — who filed a lawsuit in November— composed the music for the project alongside her longtime husband John McCauley.

For the star-studded occasion, the Save The Last Dance actress turned heads in a pale blue, pleated, satin, jumpsuit.

Her shoulder-length dirty blonde locks were parted down the middle with the front pieces neatly slicked behind her ears.

The rest of the silky, glossy locks fell around her in a subtly wavy texture.

Meanwhile, Vanessa commanded attention in a plunging, black, long-sleeved frock she teamed with suede, brown boots.

Her raven locks were styled in a side part and fluffy waves that flowed down her back.

Both women looked their best in flawlessly applied faces of makeup.

Carlton's spouse, whom she wed in 2013, joined her in dark jeans, a ribbed black cardigan, and button-up white shirt.

He sported a full beard and added a brown, patterned newsboy cap.

According to an IMDb summary, Julia's film is about a woman who 'finds a whirlwind night of romance with a man only to discover he is terminally ill.'

She then 'commits to helping him spend his last days living life to the fullest.'

Stiles told Newsweek about becoming a director, 'What's funny is that I did everything as a director that I swore I would never do to my actors.'

She added, 'I almost wanted to call some directors that I had worked with and be like, "I'm so sorry that I was annoyed with you when you told me to do that thing."'

Wish You Were Here, which comes out in select theaters on January 17, is based on Renée Carlino's 2017 novel of the same name.

'The book broke my heart but also made me laugh. It felt like it had such a good spirit to it, and I'm a romantic at heart,' Julia revealed to the publication.

'There is something really important about showing how much this girl takes care of him, and that it's OK to be kind and loving,' she said of the heart-wrenching story.
