‘XO, Kitty’ Season 2 Trailer: Noah Centineo’s Peter Kavinsky Visits “Chaos Queen” Kitty Song Covey At KISS

Though Katherine “Kitty” Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) will be less of an outsider in her second semester at the Korean International School of Seoul, she says it best in the show’s newly released trailer: “There’s nothing like a familiar face from home” to boost one’s confidence every now and then.

That friendly face just happens to be Noah Centineo’s Peter Kavinsky, star of Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film trilogy based on the books by Jenny Han. XO, Kitty Season 2 will continue its spinoff story of Han’s books, which centered on Lana Condor’s Lara Jean Song Covey and her love story with Peter. Kavinsky returns to visit Kitty in Korea towards the end of the trailer for Season 2, which premieres on Netflix on January 16.

Next up for teen matchmaker and “chaos queen” according to her best friend Q (Anthony Keyvan) Kitty Song Covey has a whole new semester at KISS ahead of her in Seoul, South Korea. For the first time in a while, she’s single, and she’s determined to avoid drama in her friend group, though the way things left off after Season 1 will make that challenging.

The clip begins with a refresher montage of everything that went haywire last semester and season, showing a flash of Kitty between Yuri Han (Gia Kim), daughter of her mother’s old best friend, and Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), Kitty’s former frenemy.

“Las semester ended with so much drama,” Cathcart’s voiceover says. “This semester, I have my priorities straight. I’m gonna hit the books and finally discover who my mom really was. I’m ready to launch Kitty 2.0.”

Last season, Kitty put herself out there and decided to study abroad at KISS, both to be closer to her long-distance boyfriend Dae (Mineyong Choi) and to feel closer to her late mother, who attended the school when she was a junior in high school. The spontaneous decision taught her that she doesn’t know as much about love as she thought, because she developed feelings for Yuri Han (Gina Kim) who was her frenemy for a bit since Yuri forced Dae to fake date her. As if that weren’t complicated enough, Min Ho, Dae’s best friend, confessed that he had developed feelings for Kitty by the end of their first semester together too. On top of all of this, Kitty was technically expelled for living with Dae, Min Ho and Q in the boys’ dormitory.

Yuri asks Kitty when she’s “gonna find someone [she] want[s] to be with.” Q reflects on how “we’ve been here before.”

“I wanna try dating girls,” Kitty says. “But I’m still not over Yuri, plus things with Min Ho and I are just … complicated.”

Phillippe Lee joins in as Mr. Moon, and the returning cast also includes Regan Aliyah as Juliana Porter, Peter Thurnwald as Alex, Michael K Lee as Professor Lee and Jocelyn Shelfo as Madison.
