Xbox Game Pass is getting another stacked wave of new games to play on the service. March's new additions are headlined by Absolum, one of last year's best action games.

From developers Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, Absolum is a combination side-scrolling beat-'em-up and roguelike, mixing retro arcade game design with modern design principles. Combat is deep, with a mix of melee attacks and elemental powers at its heroes' disposal.

"It’s elegantly retro, tempting me to chain together basic attacks and spell uses and rack up massive combo chains. The combat is deceptively rich too, with punish attacks (hits during an enemy’s attack recovery) and aerial maneuvers that make it feel like a fighting game when executed at a high level," our review stated.

We're not alone in enjoying it — Absolum holds an 86 critic score on OpenCritic and a 90 player rating. After previously only being on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation consoles, and Windows PC, Absolum arrives on Xbox Series X and Game Pass on March 25.

Also hitting Xbox Game Pass is 2019's Disco Elysium, one of the most influential RPGs in recent years, despite its messy behind-the-scenes legacy. In it, you play as a detective investigating murders and interrogating suspects while trying to piece together his past, which he has no recollection of. Your choices influence what type of person he becomes, giving you the freedom to make him a hero or a hot mess. "The way the game’s systems interact, holding true to their own rules while allowing you to stray so far in multiple directions, turns Disco Elysium into a pure role-playing experience that feels wondrous and unique compared to its peers. I never feel like my lack of certain skills hinders my ability to progress; it simply pushes me toward more interesting solutions," our 2019 review stated. You plan cay it on Xbox Game Pass starting March 19.
