X Factor star reveals engagement as she shows off sparkling ring after romantic proposal

X Factor star Amelia Lily has shared the happy news that she is engaged.

The singer, 30, took part in the ITV talent show in 2011 and revealed the news to her fans on her Instagram account.

Posing with her with her fiancé Eddie McQueen Amelia - who has also starred in MTV's Geordie Shore wrote: 'MRS MCQUEEN TO BE!'

It is not know when the couple first got together, but Eddie first appeared on Amelia's Instagram page in September 2023. 

Her post was flooded with congratulatory messages including from Geordie Shore's Chloe Ferry who said: 'Congrats!'

Vicky Pattison added: 'Congratulations gorgeous girl,' while Bethan Kershaw penned: 'Congratulations angel!' 

Amelia rose to stardom while on the singing contest and came to the third place, while she was also a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017 and was in a romance with I'm A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson. 

While never fully leaving her music career, she also joined Geordie Shore in 2020 but left after two series.

The engagement comes just a few months after Amelia took to her page to wish Eddie a happy birthday.

'Happy birthday to my favourite person in the world❤️ hope your day is as special as you are to me. You're one in a million Eddie!,' she wrote.

Earlier this year the happy couple celebrated what appeared to be their first anniversary.

Sharing a selection of pictures of them together she wrote: 'Happy Anniversary to my absolute soul mate! My ride or die, the love of my life.

'Eddie you are literally a legend, my legend. You are the best thing that ever happened to me, I feel like we've been together about 10 years (in a good way)

'Thank you for constantly making me laugh endless amounts and making me the happiest I've felt in a long time.

'You're my best friend and I'm so lucky to have you.

'I can't wait to celebrate with you tomorrow. Love you always big guy x.'
