World Liberty Financial has appointed Ryan Ballantyne as chief business officer, adding an executive with institutional crypto experience to lead the company’s global growth efforts.
Ballantyne most recently led corporate client strategy at Coinbase Institutional, the division of the US crypto exchange that serves professional investors and corporate clients.
In his new role, Ballantyne will oversee World Liberty Financial’s global business strategy and partnerships, according to an announcement reported by The Block.
The appointment signals a stronger focus on building commercial relationships as World Liberty Financial expands its presence in the digital asset sector. Ballantyne’s background working with institutional clients could support the firm’s efforts to develop partnerships with companies and financial-market participants.
Institutional adoption has become a key growth area for crypto businesses as banks, asset managers, and corporations explore blockchain-based payments, trading, and treasury products. Executives with experience connecting crypto platforms to those clients have therefore become increasingly important to firms seeking to scale beyond retail markets.
For World Liberty Financial, the hiring places Ballantyne in charge of translating the company’s broader strategy into business development and partnership initiatives across international markets. The company did not disclose additional terms of the appointment in the announcement.
