World Cup 2026: Meet the Soccer Stars of Team USA
It’s time for Team USA to take the pitch.
As the American squad gears up for their first 2026 World Cup match against Paraguay in Los Angeles June 12, newcomers like Haji Wright, Malik Tillman and Mark McKenzie have a few familiar faces to show them the ropes.
Indeed, Christian Pulisic—who has been on the roster since 2016—is returning for his second World Cup and the forward is well-positioned to lead the team, considering he has scored nearly three times as many goals for Team USA than any other member of the roster.
And that dominance is fueling his mindset this year. As he told Time last month, “I plan on scoring goals.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Tyler Adams is also returning for his second World Cup, which is being jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
“Moments like these never get old,” he wrote on Instagram May 26 after being announced as part of the roster. “Grateful for the opportunity. Time to get to work!”
And while Team USA’s roster is stacked with World Cup newbies like forward Ricardo Pepi, midfielder Sebastian Berhalter and defender Max Arfsten, all eyes are on defender Tim Ream, who returns for his second competition at 38 years old.
“Apparently, when you turn 30, that's a death knell, I guess,” he quipped to Goal.com. “There's always going to be talk about every player, and it just happens to be my age.”
While acknowledging fans’ concerns, Ream—who first joined Team USA in 2010—emphasized he is ready for the international challenge.

“Should I be here at 38? That's up for debate,” he continued. “But I'm still here, and I'm still pushing myself. I'm still trying to reach and achieve goals that I've set, and hopefully I can do that.”
