A 23-year-old woman from England was shot to death by her father while visiting his home in Texas after what was believed to be an argument about President Donald Trump. She was shot in the chest in Prosper, near Dallas, on 10 January 2025 and died of her wounds.

Lucy Harrison, from Warrington in Cheshire, did not live with her father. He had moved to Texas when she was still a child, but she regularly visited him. They would often, according to her partner, argue about various things, including gun ownership and Donald Trump. On the day she was killed, they had been discussing Trump's upcoming second inauguration.

Her partner, Sam Littler, was on the scene when the argument occurred. According to him, she had asked her father how he would feel if the little girl she was referencing in the argument was her and if she had been sexually assaulted. Her father, allegedly, replied that he had two daughters who lived with him now, and it wouldn't bother him. This had upset Harrison, and she had removed herself to her bedroom.

Harrison was due to leave and fly back to the UK that day. About half an hour before she was due to leave, her father invited her into his room. According to him, he wanted to show her his Glock 9mm handgun. She went into his room alone, and he apparently pulled the gun from where it was kept. In a statement, he recounted his memory of the situation.

"As I lifted the gun to show her, I suddenly heard a loud bang. I did not understand what had happened. Lucy immediately fell."

The family ran into the room, responding to the screams of her father, to see Lucy lying on the floor with a bullet hole in her chest. He claims that he can't remember if his finger was on the trigger, but that he had drunk around half a liter of wine before killing his daughter. Police and emergency services were called, but it was too late for Harrison.

In a statement, her father has said that he is prepared to fully accept the consequences of what he has done. He feels loss and regret for what he has done. However, at present, the Collin County grand jury declined to indict Kris Harrison. No criminal charges have been brought forward in the US. The coroner's inquest will be delivered this Wednesday.
