UPDATED at 6:15 AM: It was bound to happen — Winona Ryder is reentering the Tim Burton universe and moving from the #3 Most Popular Netflix English series, Stranger Things, for the #1, Wednesday. Ryder has been tapped to guest star on Season 3 of Wednesday, reuniting with frequent collaborator Burton as well as her Beetlejuice Beetlejuice co-star, Wednesday lead Jenna Ortega, and the Beetlejuice sequel’s writers, Wednesday creators/showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar.

Ryder, who will appear in multiple episodes, joins previously announced Season 3 cast addition Eva Green, who will portray Morticia Addams’ sister, Ophelia.

The Stranger Things star will play a character named Tabitha, as revealed in a video announcing the start of production for Season 3 that features a dinner table with place cards for new and returning cast members with their character names. Based on the letter “B” calligraphed at the top of each card, Tabitha is tied to three other new characters played by fellow new cast members Noah Taylor (Cyrus), Oscar Morgan (Atticus) and Kennedy Moyer (Daisy). You can watch the video below.

“When it comes to Outcasts, Winona Ryder is the GOAT, Gough and Millar said. “Her legendary partnership with Tim Burton has defined some of cinema’s most unforgettable characters. We loved collaborating with her on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome her to Nevermore.”

Ryder has starred in four Burton movies, Beetlejuice and its sequel, Edward Scissorhands and the animated Frankenweenie, in addition to the Burton-directed music video for The Killers.

“I am so happy that Winona has joined us, she fits right into this world,” Wednesday director/executive producer Burton said. “And she’s a dear friend. I always feel lucky to work with her.”

Based on the characters created by Charles Addams, Wednesday is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ (Ortega) years as a student at Nevermore Academy.
