Winona Ryder is nearly unrecognizable in bizarre ensemble during rare outing in Paris

Winona Ryder was spotted leaving her Paris hotel with her shaggy brunette haircut looking unkempt.

The 59-year-old Stranger Things star was nearly unrecognizable as she stepped out wearing Apple headphones over her mop of disheveled hair.

She also wore large black sunglasses while her choppy, face-framing bangs hung over her eyes.

Ryder wore layers of clothes, including a checkered sweater, dark crew neck sweatshirt, and black jacket.

The longtime actress added a pair of loose-fitting, black, cuffed trousers and rounded out the look with black leather boots. 

She appeared to go makeup-free while carrying a tablet and close to her chest.

She slung a stylish black leather purse over her shoulder during the outing in France.

In a September 2024 interview with AnOther magazine, the former child star said she believes her identity 'protected' her from any unwanted attention in the industry.

Seemingly alluding to the Me Too movement, she said: 'With everything that’s happened in the past six years, it takes remembering something and thinking about it happening to someone of the same age you were, like Jenna [Ortega] or Sadie [Sink], and it’s like, "Five-alarm fire, not OK!"

'Because everything back then was always, "You’re so sensitive, he’s just kidding. Get a sense of humor." I always felt lucky that I was considered kind of a weirdo for enough time…'

She added, 'I was still around really inappropriate behavior, but I felt like my identity protected me in a way.'

Ryder attended Balenciaga's Paris Fashion Week show on Saturday, looking fashionable in a slouchy brown pantsuit.

She layered a button-up black shirt under her tailored co-ord, adding black boots to the chic, masculine outfit. 

And her layered brunette locks were arranged in wispy tousles.  

She was joined at the event by longtime boyfriend Scott Mackinlay Hahn. 

The Edward Scissorhands actress and fashion designer met at the premiere of Black Swan in 2010 and struck up a romance the following year. 

In 2022 Ryder revealed her beau initially thought she was a different actress.

'He thought I was Milla Jovovich,' she told Harper's Bazaar. 'He told me I was great in The Fifth Element.' 

The star also shared that she liked that Hahn is not part of the entertainment industry. 

'We connected on so many levels. But it was amazing that he's not in this business... I really did try to keep it quiet,' she recalled.
