The American Pavilion has called “cut!” on its “Lights! Cannes! Action!” video contest to win scholarships to its 2025 Cannes Student Program, and four winners have been announced, with a first-place and second-place winner in two different categories.
The regular deadline for everyone else to enroll in the Cannes Student Program is December 16 (with a late deadline on February 3). This is an all-access pass to panels, workshops, and networking opportunities with actual film industry professionals, allowing you to get hands-on experience and make the professional connections you need to get your career in film off the ground. Enroll here.
There are different programs within the Cannes Student Program tailored to your specific career interests that you can read about here.
The first-place winners of our video contest will receive a full scholarship to the program, while the second-place winners will get 50% off. There were two categories for submission: Cannes Alumni, for those who have participated in the AmPav Cannes Student Program before, and Cannes First-Timer, for newbies.
In the Cannes Alumni category, 1st Place goes to Olav Carter (who received an honorable mention in last year’s contest) and 2nd Place goes to Matison LeBlanc.
In the Cannes First-Timer category, 1st Place goes to Kevin de los Cuetos and 2nd Place goes to Claire Delany.
Entrants were asked to create an Instagram reel to express how an experience with The American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival could impact them – for alumni of the Cannes program, they were asked to say how it has already influenced their lives. There were no parameters to follow besides answering the prompt and following the posting rules.
