Why 'million-dollar WAG' Annalise Dalins was the talk of the Brownlow... for all the wrong reasons: Fashion world whispers erupt after her longtime stylist was spotted with three other AFL wives as her agent fires back

Leading WAG Annalise Dalins is facing fresh rumours of a fashion falling-out after attending the Brownlow Medal without stylist Paul Versace, who has been a fixture of her red-carpet appearances in the past.

Versace, 31, has styled Dalins, 25, for the Brownlow since she began attending in 2022 with her fiancé Josh Daicos, the brother of Collingwood midfielder Nick Daicos, who won the medal this year with a record-breaking tally of 47 votes.

However, despite being longtime friends, the Daily Mail understands that Versace did not style Dalins this year, and instead was spotted working with three other WAGs at Crown Melbourne.

Dalins was subsequently left without a stylist, with one insider claiming this made her 'the talk of the Brownlow for the wrong reasons'. Although, to her credit, she still looked spectacular.

'She didn't want a stylist. Paul made her well-known and never charged her... Her management is known for wanting payments to work with her,' the source claimed.

'I don't think stylists can afford to do that anymore.'

The insider added that 'many designers are becoming increasingly reluctant to work with stylists' as well.

'One of the biggest issues is that gowns are often returned damaged and ultimately it's the designer who carries the financial risk and has the most invested in how the final look is presented.' 

They went on to say that Dalins' talent agent, Jayden Ekanayake of J MGMT, may have played a part in the WAG dropping Versace as her stylist.

'Apparently her management company didn't really want her to work with Paul,' they said, adding that Annalise now prefers paid partnerships since signing with J MGMT. 

'It's rubbing a lot of people the wrong way,' the source claimed. 'It was the talk of the Brownlow.'

However, when Daily Mail approached Ms Ekanayake for comment, she hosed down rumours of a rift between Dalins and Versace, saying the timing just didn't work out for them to work together this year.

'Annalise worked directly with the designer [Alin Le' Kal] this year due to how quickly the Brownlow crept up,' she said. 

'There was no stylist involved and it was simply a decision made due to timings and nothing more to it.

'Annalise really enjoyed the creative and design process and experimenting with her fashion. 

'Paul is incredibly talented and it was so great to see him dressing so many people on the night.

'We are so lucky to work in an industry with so many incredible designers, stylists and artists.'

Ms Ekanayake also hit back at the rumours that she personally was the reason why Dalins and Versace didn't work together this year, describing the claims as 'misinformation' and insisting she 'adores' working with the stylist. 

'Annalise and Paul have a great relationship both personally and professionally and still work together. Recently they shot a beautiful Temelli Campaign to announce her as the new Ambassador,' she said. 

'I have also worked with him across other campaigns and events, so this is misinformation as we adore him and his work and look forward to working with him in future.'

Ms Ekanayake made no comment on claims doing the rounds that she and Dalins have been pushing for more sponsorship deals for events in recent years.

In her defence, few would blame Dalins for trying to secure a paid deal with a stylist instead of paying out of pocket like an ordinary civilian - though the Mail understands Versace never charged Dalins for his services at Brownlow.

Interestingly, her soon-to-be brother-in-law, Nick, was reportedly paid $50,000 by Myer to wear a Dom Bagnato suit provided by Dom Bagnato on the red carpet.

However, Dalins' alleged pursuit of deals that see her paid to wear certain brands on the red carpet is rumoured to be rubbing people the wrong way. 

From 2022 to 2025, Dalins was dressed by Versace and her former friend, well-known fashion designer Sam Oglialoro.

OGLIA-LORO couture gowns have graced the red carpets of the Oscars and BAFTA Awards, as well as the Brownlow and 'Glamour on the Grid'.

However, Dalins and Oglialoro had a professional rift earlier this year over her wedding dress, with the designer telling the Mail that he declined to make the gown for her big day after she requested a commercial deal. 

'We thought we were making a gown, but we don't pay people to wear our gowns. That's where I'm going to leave it,' Oglialoro told us in May. 

He went on to say that he 'won't be making any more gowns' for Dalins, but wished her all the best in the future.

Versace hasn't let Dalins' falling-out with Oglialoro stop him from working with the designer, as the pair were pictured working together during the Brownlow this year. 

He shared photos to his social media showing the glamorous looks he styled for WAGs Brooke Bailey, Ruby Dixon and Alex Pendlebury.

Images he uploaded to Instagram showed him closely working with Oglialoro on the Brownlow looks for Bailey and Pendlebury, who wore OGLIA-LORO designs.

Dalins instead wore Alin Le' Kal this year, a couture fashion house based in South Yarra.

The breathtaking corseted gown featured a ruffled detail and delicate beading on the bodice, while the skirt was made out of sheer tulle to show off her slender legs. 

Dalins was adorned with almost $1million worth of jewels from Temelli Jewellery, including huge diamond studs, a diamond ear cuff, several diamond rings and bracelets, which totalled 40 carats.

She walked the red carpet on the arm of fiancé Josh Daicos, whom she is set to marry in November.

The couple recently showed off their wedding invites ahead of their upcoming ceremony, publishing a video which showed their reaction to seeing the wedding invites after unboxing them for the first time.

'One step closer to forever,' Dalins captioned an Instagram post.

The footage captured the pair gushing over the cards they're set to send out to their wedding guests ahead of their big day.

'Beautiful, yeah that looks really nice, love this,' Daicos, 27, was heard saying. 'God they did such a good job designing it.'

The pair have been engaged since September 2024, after Daicos completed a lavish proposal during a romantic holiday in Greece.
