Chris Pratt Shares Surprising Reason He and Katherine Schwarzenegger Went to Premarital Counseling

Chris Pratt is guarding more than just the galaxy.

The Parks and Recreation alum revealed that not only have his and wife Katherine Schwarzenegger's kids Lyla, 5, Eloise, 3, and Ford, 16 months, never watched his movies, they've never watched any.

"My 5-year-old, my 3-year-old and my 1-year-old have never seen movies," Chris told Craig Melvin during his March 17 appearance on Today. "Katherine is very old-school when it comes to screens and technology and all of that stuff. So, we're waiting."

However, the actor—also dad to 13-year-old son Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris—is looking forward to the day when his three youngest do get to see his movies.

"There's gonna be a season, they're gonna realize their dad is really cool," he teased. "They haven't realized it yet, but one day."

Thankfully, Chris—whose decades-long career includes PG-rated movies like The Lego Movie, Onward and The Garfield Moviehas had the chance to show Jack his projects.

"My 13-year-old, I took him to a screening of the first movie," he said of his animated film the Super Mario Bros. Movie. "He thinks it's pretty cool."

So, while Lyla, Eloise and Ford aren't completely aware of their dad's career, he quipped, "Jack likes me, though."

Chris and Katherine—who tied the knot in 2019—have always been on the same page when it comes to parenting. In fact, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor revealed that they had many discussions about their beliefs before tying the knot.

"We also had a ceremony at St. Monica's Church and a part of getting married at St. Monica's church is doing premarital counseling," he shared on SiriusXM's Literally! With Rob Lowe podcast last month. "We did like, six sessions with this guy who was, by the way, the best thing in the world."

"They ask you questions you would not even think to answer until you have been married for eight years," he continued, "and then something comes up and you're like, 'What do you mean that's how you think about that?' And then you have to negotiate it then."

So, he and Katherine eventually came up with a list of directives for their marriage.

"It's like 300 potential landmines and you diffuse them beforehand," he added. "That way, if you have an issue, you talk about it and you hash it out, every single one. If you agree on it, you move on. But if there's things you disagree on, you hash it out and you do the work to figure out why are you coming from this."

While Chris patiently waits to finally show his and Katherine's kids his filmography, keep reading for a closer look at their blended family and life together.
