Guy Lockard is playing a sketchy new character in FBI who will be part of a storyline throughout the season, and it will be interesting to see how he fits in. Lockard's Clay is a different type of character than he has played elsewhere in the One Chicago universe. This character is connected to OA, who has always been one of the New York Field Office's most trusted agents despite the way his PTSD from his time in Afghanistan occasionally affects him. Clay has only appeared in two episodes of FBI so far, but it is clear that he will be an important addition to the cast.
Clay is also a person from OA's past, and his introduction has made it clear that he is shady. Although OA was happy that Clay was in town, he seemed reluctant to meet him for dinner in his first episode. Clay's inclusion in the FBI season 7 cast will allow the series to gradually reveal more about him while challenging OA in new ways because of his presence. Although little is known about Clay so far, OA is getting more deeply involved with him in every episode, leading to a compelling season 7 story.
Clay's History With OA & Their Season 7 Reunion In FBI Explained
Clay Is An Old Army Buddy Who OA Doesn't Quite Trust
OA initially ran into Clay, who was an old friend who served with him in the military, at a charity gala that Gemma's dad was hosting. He explained to Gemma that he and Clay were both platoon leaders. The two made small talk, but it soon became clear that OA was uncomfortable even though he accepted Clay's invitation to dinner the next day. However, when talking about it with Maggie, OA seemed unexcited about the prospect of dinner with his old friend and didn't want Maggie to join them, though he claimed he didn't want any awkwardness between her and Gemma.

Why Katherine Renee Kane's Tiffany Wallace Left FBI In Season 7
FBI season 7 premiere addressed why Tiffany Wallace was leaving the team and revealed what her plans for her future would be after she was done.
OA's hesitance about Clay was soon proven to be well-founded, as Clay asked him to plant a surveillance bug in the restaurant. When OA refused, Clay insisted that OA owed him for saving his life when they were in the armed services together. OA's decision to go along with his plan by distracting a waiter seemed like a bad idea that would ultimately get OA in trouble.
How Clay's Involvement Impacts OA's Arc And FBI Season 7
OA has always been one of the FBI's most trusted agents. He generally avoids shady behavior, and acts with integrity even when it's difficult. However, Clay is dragging him more and more away from the values that he has practiced for the past seven years, which will not end well for OA. Even helping plant that bug was contrary to OA's nature, but he allowed Clay to manipulate him, leaving the question open of how far he will go because he believes he owes Clay his life.

FBI Season 8: Cast, Story & Everything We Know
The flagship series, FBI, has been a massive hit for CBS over the years, and the police procedural from Dick Wolf is renewed for season 8.
OA has already gotten deeper into trouble as of FBI season 7, episode 3. During this story, OA exploits his relationship with Clay to get information that would help him catch a bomber before more innocent people are hurt. However, he is reluctant to tell Isobel how he got the information because he doesn't want to get Clay in trouble. This is very unusual for OA, and suggests that sooner or later, he will do something he regrets while trying to play both sides with Clay.
Clay could be hurt or killed because of his work with OA, which could leave OA feeling guilty and questioning all the decisions he made related to Clay.
For now, OA is safe because he ultimately took Maggie's advice and told Isobel the truth about what was going on, which prompted Isobel to instruct him to make Clay an official CI instead of doing this type of work in secret. While that might have resolved the problem for now, Clay is not trustworthy, and OA may find himself in a worse situation later due to Clay's ties to organized crime. Additionally, Clay could be hurt or killed because of his work with OA, which could leave OA feeling guilty and questioning all the decisions he made related to Clay.
Guy Lockard Plays Clay In FBI, But He Played A Different Character In Chicago Med
Lockard Was Med's Dylan Scott For One Season
Lockard's inclusion in FBI season 7 suggests he is likely not returning to Chicago Med any time soon. He played Dylan Scott during Chicago Med season 7, but left at the beginning of season 8. Scott was a former cop who decided to become a doctor and was particularly gifted at getting through to kids who were growing up with gang violence. However, he got involved with an undercover cop, leading to a violent situation in the hospital, and thus decided to leave.
This role also will demonstrate Lockard's range as an actor, as he is playing a much shadier character than he did last time he was involved with a One Chicago show.
Lockard's character in FBI is the opposite of who he played in Chicago Med. The role of Clay will lead the police procedural in an interesting new direction, especially for OA.
