White House to host crypto and prediction market executives next week

The White House is expected to host executives from the cryptocurrency and prediction market industries next Wednesday, Politico reported, citing three people familiar with the plans.

Details remain unsettled, including the final attendee list. Executives from traditional finance could also participate, while it remains unclear whether President Donald Trump will attend.

The meeting is scheduled one day before the Commodity Futures Trading Commission holds a meeting of its Innovation Advisory Committee, which includes executives from crypto, finance, gambling and prediction market companies.

The gathering comes as the crypto industry continues to push for passage of the Clarity Act, a broad market structure bill currently pending in the Senate.

Lawmakers are expected to take up the legislation in September after returning from the August recess.

The White House has not confirmed the meeting.
