White House excludes prediction market firms from Trump tech event: Report

The White House has ruled out participation by prediction market companies at a Wednesday event with President Donald Trump, despite earlier expectations that executives from the industry would attend, according to Politico.

A White House official said the gathering will focus on technology leaders and efforts to strengthen US technological dominance.

The meeting was viewed as a kickoff for a CFTC advisory committee and was expected to bring together senior figures from the crypto and prediction market industries. Crypto executives will still attend.

The decision comes as major prediction market platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket face growing legal challenges from state authorities over whether their event contracts are federally regulated derivatives or unlicensed gambling.
