Twisters is available to stream on Peacock on November 15, 2024, landing on a major platform for the first time nearly four months after it was first released in theaters. Since NBCUniversal owns Peacock, the streaming service is the home to all new Universal movies. The studio releases new movies on Peacock after roughly 90 days on average.

However, the longer theatrical window for the film and the longer wait for Twisters to arrive on Peacock speaks to the box office and theatrical success the blockbuster had. Repeat viewings allowed the movie to stay in theaters longer than is typically seen these days. While there were a number of summer movies that bombed in 2024, Twisters stands out as a box-office success story for the season.

Digital And Physical Purchases Are Available

While fans had to wait a bit longer for Twister's streaming debut on Peacock, the movie was released on PVOD on August 12, 2024. With the movie only being in theaters for less than a month before it was available for home purchase, there is a sense that the studio underestimated the success of Twisters as it was still performing well.

Twisters can be rented for $5.99 on the standard platforms such as Apple TV, Amazon, and Microsoft. These platforms also have the movie available to buy for $19.99. The film's physical release came in October 2024 with steelbook 4K and Blu-ray options available for $34.99. The two-disc release also includes a gag reel feature as well as deleted scenes.

A follow-up to the 1996 original film Twister, Twisters is a sequel set years after the original, said to be fast-tracked by Steven Spielberg and Mark L. Smith, with Frank Marshal as producer. Little details exist about the film, but Helen Hunt is expected to reprise her role as Jo, with the film likely to pay homage to the late Bill Paxton.
