For those who love the epic British period drama series Downton Abbey, the latest movie in the franchise, Downton Abbey: A New Era, is a must-watch event. For six seasons, Downton Abbey charmed and entertained audiences with its series set in a wealthy Yorkshire estate in the early 1900s, exploring the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family as well as the many servants who work on the estate. The series follows these characters through many of the biggest historical moments of the era. However, when the series ended in 2015, fans wanted more.
This led to the first Downton Abbey movie and its sequel, Downton Abbey: A New Era. The sequel is set in 1928 and follows the beloved characters as they look into the mystery around a villa inherited by the Dowager Countess, as well as a Hollywood production choosing Downton Abbey as its filming location. With news of the third Downton Abbey movie on the way to end the franchise, now is the perfect time to catch up on the latest chapter.
