Konami’s first big swing with the Metal Gear Solid franchise in its post-Kojima era is coming Aug. 28, 2025. The remake of 2004’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, is a top-to-bottom visual overhaul, giving the PS2 game a huge graphical update. Fans of the series know that the source material is stellar, but we’ll have to wait until later in 2025 to see how this re-release shakes out in full. It’ll be coming to the PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.

If you want to roll the dice with a pre-order, there are four editions: two physical ones, two digital ones. Some of them entitle you to the same redeemable digital items found in others, while only the physical Collector’s Edition comes with goodies that you can put on display. And only one digital edition allows for early access. We’ve got all of the editions, their perks, and where to buy them below.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater - Tactical Edition

$70

“Tactical Edition” is the name given to the physical release of the game. It costs $69.99, and in addition to the full game, it includes the Sneaking DLC Pack that grants you access to 6 costumes detailed below, along with 4 facial accessories and masks that can be equipped. You’ll also get the White Tuxedo uniform. Notably, Konami claims that each item can be obtained through in-game progress, or purchased later on. In terms of value, this is the one to get, as it includes DLC that doesn’t come included with the base digital version.

Here is the full list of DLC items you’ll get with this version:

  • Sneaking DLC Pack
    • Battle Dress (Peace Walker version)
    • Sneaking Suit (Peace Walker version)
    • Crocodile Suit
    • Naked (Woodland)
    • Naked (Ammunition Belt)
    • Gold
    • Glasses
    • Sunglasses
    • GA-KO Mask
    • Kerotan Mask
  • White Uniform

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater - Digital Edition

 Snake Eater Snake Eater

$70

I’m not a fan of Konami’s pricing strategy for the most affordable digital version on consoles and PC, called the “Standard Edition.” It costs the same amount as the physical version above ($69.99), but only includes the White Tuxedo uniform, not the Sneaking DLC Pack. Again, all of that content can be purchased, or unlocked through in-game progress, but it’s a strange omission nevertheless.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater - Digital Deluxe Edition

$80

The $79.99 Digital Deluxe version of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater includes all DLC items present in the physical Tactical Edition detailed above. It’s available on PS5, Xbox, and on Steam PC. To make the price a bit easier to digest, it includes 48 hours of early access to the full game, in case you really want to get a jumpstart on playing the remake.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater - Collector’s Edition

$200

The ultimate package of the remake is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X in the $199.99 Collector’s Edition. In it, you’ll get the Tactical (i.e. physical disc) Edition in a slick Steelbook case, a couple of patches, a replica of Snake’s ID card with its own lanyard, plus a terrarium diorama. The diorama captures the moments following Snake’s dramatic arrival in the forest after doing a halo jump from a plane. Unsurprisingly, this edition is difficult to find in stock, as it’s currently only available at GameStop
