When Reacher Season 4's Finale Releases On Prime Video

Season 4 of Reacher began on August 12, 2026, with the first three episodes dropping together. Now, a month later, the end of Jack Reacher's latest war is drawing nigh. Based on the 13th book in Lee Child's series, Gone Tomorrow, the season began with the death of Anna Merrick on a subway. Since then, viewers have watched weeks of conspiracies, action-packed fight scenes, and betrayals unfold, and now they're eager to know when the finale drops to wrap things up (and hopefully reveal the shadowy figures behind this season's events).

So far, Reacher season 4 has taken some interesting turns, particularly as it has set Jack Reacher up less as the hero of the story and more as the anti-hero. Episode 7 left off with congressional representative John Sampson playing the hero, as Jack got the location for the testing of the Hoths' bioweapon wrong, not once but twice (he's been struggling all season with making these kinds of mistakes).

Of course, the Reacher season finale, "Cut," gives Jack a chance to course-correct and reclaim his status as a "hero." Episode 8 also promises to give us answers about who or what created all this chaos in the first place and more, and fans can watch it all go down on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Season 4's Finale Isn't The End Of Prime Video's Reacher Fun

For those already feeling Reacher withdrawal coming on, there's good news, as the new spin-off series, Neagley, also drops on September 16. The new show will follow the character of the same name from the Reacher series, as she goes off to untangle her own conspiracy. The first Neagley trailer, which dropped at the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con, showed Frances Neagley demonstrating her investigative skills as a PI, interspersed with action scenes, and the introduction of new characters who will help (or hinder) her quest.

In the initial season, Neagley will learn the fate of a good friend, who died in a suspicious accident, which sets her on a course for justice. However, Reacher fans can expect things to go a bit differently on Neagley than they did in the original series. One of the biggest ways the shows will diverge, as showrunners Nick Santora and Nick Wootton explained to Entertainment Weekly earlier this year, is how the characters of Neagley and Reacher operate. Santora described this difference as follows:

The other was having a character where you really dove into what made her tick. What makes Reacher tick is gears and springs, and that’s about it. He’s not deep psychologically, that’s why people like him. He’s just a guy who wants to eat sandwiches and punch, and Neagley is much deeper than that.

Additionally, Amazon has confirmed that there will be a season 5 of Reacher. This next season will be based on the 20th novel in Lee Child's series, Make Me.

What To Know Before Reacher Season 4's Finale

Reacher season 4 has had a lot going on, so fans might want to revisit some of the major points before going into the season finale. To recap, the season opened with Jack witnessing Anna's apparent suicide on a subway, which draws him into something much larger. While searching for answers about her death, he comes across Lila Hoth, who says she has leukemia, and that congressional representative John Sampson is her father.

He's next kidnapped by the CIA, escapes, and is warned off continuing his investigation. After that, mercenaries show up before Lila tells Jack that she lied to him about everything and is actually a journalist. Apparently, none of the Hoths are really who they say they are, and Lila can't be trusted at all. As the season continues, Reacher tries to gain access to the USB drive at the center of the plot, while facing arrest and having to fend off mercenaries.

Episode 7 sees the Hoths plan to test their bioweapon before auctioning it off on the dark web. Sampson ends up saving the day when he tackles the man with the weapon at his campaign dinner, sending them both plummeting into the water below, with the episode ending on a cliffhanger.

The Reacher season 4 finale should see Jack facing off with those who are responsible for Anna's death, while others get their shot at redemption. All our biggest questions about the season should be answered, and hopefully the plot threads still dangling at a loose end are all tied up.
