As the harrowing arrivals of the town’s residents in From are gradually revealed, the most mysterious backstory is still that of Victor, who has been there the longest. After kicking off with the Matthews family’s RV ride into town, From’s ensemble of characters has been receiving more flashbacks and references regarding their entrapment in the location, such as Boyd and Ellis’ entry several years prior. However, the backstory laden with the greatest mystery and intrigue is that of Victor (Scott McCord), the town’s isolated crayon-coloring resident who strikes up a friendship with Jim and Tabitha’s young son Ethan.
Victor’s past and suppressed memories have played a significant part in the residents’ attempts to uncover the mysteries of From’s monsters, town, and supernatural occurrences. Despite having seen most of the town’s evolution and history, Victor generally refuses to discuss his past, including how and when he arrived at From’s location. However, the series continues to build up to the reveal of the origins of Victor’s time in the town, such as From season 2, episode 8’s shocking flashback twists regarding his sister, mother, and a catastrophic event when he was a child.
Victor Likely Drove Into From's Town Over 40 Years Ago
Victor Might Be The Person In The Town The Longest
From’s flashbacks to Victor’s childhood give subtle clues as to how long ago he arrived in the town, including young Victor’s perceived age, the cars of the era, and the outfits of the other characters seen. Victor looks to be about 10 or 11 years old during these flashbacks, and the context clues suggest that such scenes take place in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Considering adult-Victor actor Scott McCord was born in 1971, young Victor being around 10 years old in the early 1980s makes sense.
If correct, then Victor seemingly arrived in From’s town about 40–43 years before the Matthews drove in. While there are various theories about how exactly Victor arrived in From’s town and whether he was one of the very first residents, the simplest explanation is that he drove in with his mother and sister on a road trip.

Stephen King-Approved Horror Show Is The Lost Revival We’ve Been Waiting 13 Years For
Stephen King has given his seal of approval to the ongoing horror TV show From, which has all the makings of being the spiritual successor to Lost.
This is how nearly every character in From came to town, regardless of where they were driving from in the United States. Additionally, Victor’s mom’s car is in the vehicle graveyard that he made after the other residents from his childhood died. However, one of the most intriguing From theories is that Victor was born and raised in the MGM Plus show’s mysterious town, and that its residents were trapped inside when he was a child.
Victor Is The Key To Understanding The Origins Of From's Town
Victor Likely Knows The Most Secrets
Having spent more time in the town than anyone else, Victor is the one who offers the most information about From’s secrets. However, Victor is also the most reserved and guarded about his past, with his memories only being revealed through his crayon drawings. Due to his tenure, Victor holds the key to understanding crucial questions such as the evolution of the monsters, what From’s monsters really are, the purpose of the lighthouse, the meaning of the symbol that Jade sees, and what the characters’ shared visions mean.
While it’s unclear if Victor is actually one of the town’s very first residents, his experiences can still offer critical insight into how From’s central location was created and why. This could also go back to his connection with the mysterious Boy in White, who has only been seen by Victor and Ethan. When From finally depicts Victor’s arrival to town over 40 years prior, numerous pieces of the show’s mysteries will fall into place.
What Season 3 Needs To Reveal About Victor
Victor's Family Secrets Start To Come To Fruition
The biggest question that season 3 needs to reveal about Victor is about his ties to his family since he doesn't talk about anything. This is exactly what started happening when Victor was shocked to see his father, Henry, return to the town. This was huge. It turns out that Victor's mother and sister died tragically as soon as they ended up in the town. Victor then had to live alone for decades, a recluse who had to figure out how to get by on his own. This makes him a tragic character.
Henry is the only person who can get Victor to answer any real questions.
However, his father, Henry, was separated from his son (and his wife and daughter) for 40 years before he finally showed back up. What Henry has going for him is something that no one has been able to accomplish for years. Henry is the only person who can get Victor to answer any real questions. Henry's return also provided one of the saddest moments in the entire series as he told his dad, "I didn’t know how to get home." He blamed himself for being trapped in the town.
With Henry back, there might be more of a chance for Victor to answer some real questions. While Victor admitted he didn't know how to get home, he might have seen enough to have the clues to help others. At the same time, Henry felt guilt about not being able to find his family, so the two of them might finally be the key to helping everyone else in From find their way back.
In a nightmarish town that traps all who enter, residents struggle to survive while uncovering the town's dark secrets. As they seek a way out, they must contend with terrifying creatures that emerge at night, threatening their lives and sanity. The Matthews family, new arrivals, must quickly adapt to survive the horrors within the town.
