The end is nigh for Gen V season 2. That's right, the series' latest finale is almost here and, while it's got a lot of narrative ground to cover, it's exciting to know how its ending might set up the fifth and final season of its parent show in The Boys.
Right now, though, you'll want to know when this season's eighth entry, titled 'The Guardians of Godolkin' – wasn't the season 1 finale also called this? – will drop on Prime Video. Well, don't delay any longer, dear reader. Read on to find out when it'll arrive!
What is the launch time for Gen V season 2 episode 8?
The final chapter of Gen V's sophomore season will debut on Wednesday, October 22. As I've said in several articles since season 2 began, that's a worldwide release for the Amazon TV Original's next installment, so North and South American viewers can't catch it on the evening of October 21.
Timings wise, here's when I expect 'The Guardians of Godolkin' to make landfall on one of the world's best streaming services:
- US – 12am PT / 3am ET
- Canada – 12am PT / 3am ET
- UK – 8am BST
- India – 12:30pm IST
- Singapore – 3pm SGT
- Australia – 5pm AEST
- New Zealand – 7pm NZST
When do new episodes of Gen V season 2 come out?
They won't. If you skipped over the rest of this article, you'll have missed me saying that this season's eighth episode will be its last. So, one of the best Prime Video shows' second season will end once its finale has aired.
That doesn't mean there might not be more seasons. Amazon hasn't confirmed if another eight-part installment is in development yet but, depending on how The Boys' fifth season ends, there's the potential for Gen V to carry on even though the main show's story will have concluded.
If Gen V season 3 isn't greenlit, the future is still bright for Prime's live-action adaptation of The Boys. A prequel series – Vought Rising – and a Mexico-set spin-off of The Boys are in the works at Amazon MGM Studios, so this satirical superhero franchise will continue with or without Gen V.
