Waymond Lee, widely recognized for his role on Comedy Central’s Workaholics, has died at 72.
Lee’s wife, Diane, and his sister, Norine, shared the news, revealing that the actor passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 18, due to complications from ALS, per TMZ.
Lee’s health challenges began in late October when he was diagnosed with a degenerative brain condition. However, additional tests earlier this month confirmed ALS as the underlying cause.
After spending just over a week at home, Lee returned to the hospital following difficulties with breathing and swallowing, per the outlet.
His loved ones said he was hospitalized for several days before he passed, with Diane by his side.
Workaholics, a cult-favorite sitcom that aired from 2011 to 2017, followed three slacker friends navigating adulthood at a telemarketing company, with Lee earning recognition for his role as Waymond, affectionately known as Old Way Way.

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells controlling voluntary muscles, leading to muscle weakness and eventual paralysis.
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease, it was named after the famous baseball player who was diagnosed with the condition in 1939.
Born on March 7, 1952, Lee appeared in over half of Workaholics’ 86 episodes, solidifying his place as a fan favorite on the show.
The show also starred Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, Anders Holm, and Jillian Bell.
The sitcom aired from 2011 to 2017.
