Surfshark has long topped my best cheap VPN rankings. Now, an exclusive deal for TechRadar readers is taking this up a notch.

Two-year plans start from only $1.78 per month, which translates to under $50 in total paid upfront. What's more, 4 extra months of protection are thrown in too.

Surfshark is so cheap that this added discount doesn't translate into a huge financial discount. That said, the extra month you get included is a solid win — especially considering Surfshark's post-renewal price jumps.

Surfshark does several VPN principles well despite its super-cheap price.

It's the fastest VPN we've tested, is regularly audited, publishes transparency reports, and even looks and feels great to use.

The app isn't overly cluttered, you can quickly toggle between its numerous unique features, and, if you're new to VPNs, you're given everything you need to get started.

This simplicity translates across apps for essentially every platform. Plus, key features such as antivirus are available across both mobile and desktop, something even NordVPN can't claim as yet.

It's not quite the best VPN overall, NordVPN remains top for now, while other VPNs, such as Proton and ExpressVPN, offer more security capabilities. However, its low price, all-encompassing features and high speeds all play a key role in Surfshark's aim to "be the Revolut of cybersecurity".
