Universal Studios Hollywood is revving its summer blockbuster with help from franchise star, Vin Diesel.
The park today unveiled a 30-second spot for its highly-anticipated new rollercoaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, that will be shown during NBCU’s upcoming coverage of Super Bowl LX, The Winter Olympics and the NBA All-Star game on NBC and Peacock.
The spot launches a media campaign for Hollywood Drift, which is slated to open this summer — an exact date is likely to be part of the rollout. The commercial features voiceover from franchise producer, star and longtime parks collaborator, Diesel, who opens the clip in his trademark rumbling baritone with, “You ready?”
What follows includes the first good look at the ride’s “drift” function, where cars begin to spin one way or the other as they rocket across the track at up to 72 MPH. You can see it in the spot below.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, the park’s first-ever, high-speed outdoor roller coaster. The track has been under construction for months, and now loops across several levels of the backlot. The train containing four, four-seat vehicles includes Dominic Toretto’s Dodge Charger, a version of which was revealed to media this summer.
“Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” will feature 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles as guests travel along 4,100 feet of elaborate track — the equivalent of nearly 12 football fields — constructed with sound reduction technology. The goal is to create a sensation of drifting cars as guests spin in motion at furiously fast speeds. It will be the fastest roller coaster in the Universal Destinations & Experiences portfolio. Another is being planned for the company’s Orlando resort.

Last week, Diesel announced that the next film in Universal‘s Fast & Furious franchise, which now is titled Fast Forever, will hit theaters on March 17, 2028.
