Vicky Pattison has been announced as the new co-host of Women's Health UK's Just As Well podcast.

The TV star, 38, will join Women's Health's Editor-in-Chief Claire Sanderson on the podcast which will see them explore a plethora of topics covering women's physical and mental health.

Vicky's very first episode, which will air on October 20, will see her in the hotseat as she opens up on her debilitating battle with PMDD and her quest to have a baby.

Speaking about her new role, the former Geordie Shore star remarked: 'I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Just As Well and to be having these honest, important conversations with Claire and the brilliant guests we have lined up.

'Women’s health is something I’m incredibly passionate about, and I know from my own experience how confusing, isolating and overwhelming it can feel trying to find answers.

'From PMDD and fertility to ADHD, hormones and mental wellbeing, there’s still so much we need to talk about openly and without judgement. I’m looking forward to sharing my own experiences, asking the questions so many women are asking themselves, and helping create a space where listeners feel informed, supported and less alone.'

Vicky will take over from former Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson, who hosted the podcast alongside Claire.

Meanwhile, Claire said of Vicky joining the show: 'We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Vicky to Just As Well. Her warmth and openness make her a brilliant partner for these conversations, as does her knowledge across key women’s health topics.

'With expert guests, we want every episode to give our audience useful, evidence-backed advice, as well as the feeling of being part of an honest conversation.'

She continued: 'I’d like to thank Gemma Atkinson for her amazing contribution and helping us to grow the podcast so quickly. I’m pleased to say that Just As Well is going from strength to strength, with downloads and streams up, and our live recordings with Women’s Health Collective members packed out.

'We’re also exploring further live opportunities, as well as brand partnerships. I’m really excited to see where this next chapter with Vicky takes us.'

Over future episodes, Vicky and Claire will be joined by a number of experts and celebrities where they will chat through the most pressing women's health matters.

Guests will include the likes of Dani Dyer, Suranne Jones, consultant oncologist Dr Anita Mitra and menopause and ADHD expert Dr Helen Wall.

Vicky has long been open with her fans about her struggles with PMDD and her decision to have a baby.

Back in March she admitted that she is 'worried' what sort of mother she will be due to suffering from PMDD as she opened up about starting a family with husband Ercan Ramadan.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe, chronic medical condition similar to PMS.

The TV personality has shared her fertility journey with fans and candidly documented the process of freezing her eggs, which she started when she was 35.

Vicky said she wanted to take control of her fertility, and had the treatment which resulted in three embryos being frozen.

The Strictly star since admitted she is 'very concerned' what kind of mum she will be as she has several days of the month where she is faced with 'dark, intrusive thoughts and can't regulate her emotions'.
