9.99, wherever you are, possibly

Vampires! They don't just survive now, but crawl too, as evidenced by poncle's follow-up to their tight and already quite influential bullet heaven Vampire Survivors, Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors. Which now, as shared in an on brand, irreverently silly trailer, has a release date!

A date that's incredibly soon too: April 21st, next month, almost exactly a month away. The trailer didn't reveal anything new apart from said release date, but it did make one thing incredibly clear, which is that you will be paying 9.99 no matter the currency (well, at least for pounds, dollars, and euros (and it's also ¥1200 which is decidedly not 9.99 any way you try to swing it)).

Vampire Crawlers is ready and it's coming... on April 21st 2026 😏🍷

more cards, more places to crawl & more hours to say goodbye to!

For those that may have missed the announcement, Vampire Crawlers is a dungeon crawler spin-off of Vampire Survivors, but it's staying in the roguelike family, and marrying into another one: deckbuilding. You play as one of several returning characters from the original, with said choice affecting your starting abilities. Following this, you have a little romp around some dungeons based in the, you guessed it, Italian countryside, acquiring cards as you level up.

The card gameplay itself is also combo based, with each card played in a stack multiplying the next card's effect. This certainly seems like an attempt at capturing some of the visual and mechanical chaos of the original - the reveal trailer even emphasised how overpowered you can get - a touch I greatly appreciate. Feels like some thought was put into what the spirit, so to speak, of Vampire Survivors actually is.

There's also a demo, which you can have a go at on Steam right here.
