Val Chmerkovskiy was forced to miss a scheduled Dancing With The Stars live tour show on Sunday night in Peoria, Illinois.
The 39-year-old was stuck in the hospital for vertigo treatment, he revealed in an Instagram video.
'My apologies to all the fans that came out to see us today in Peoria. Thank you to my fellow castmates for rallying,' he wrote along with a photo of him wearing a blue beanie hat and gray sweatshirt while in his hospital bed.
He added, 'Little bump in the road. I’ll be good to go ASAP. It takes quite literally me not being able to stand on my feet to keep me off that stage. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t make it tonight.'
While speaking to the camera, Chmerkovskiy explained, 'I've just been having vertigo for the past couple of days.'
He added about his symptoms, 'Once that little crystal in your equilibrium goes out, it's really hard to get it back in. I'm just spinning everywhere.'

The star noted that he hopes to return to the stage later this week: 'Hopefully tomorrow’s a day off, and I’ll be back on Tuesday.'

Ukrainian-born Chmerkovskiy joined DWTS in 2006 and has won three times.
His first victory was with Rumer Willis (2015), the second was with Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez (2016) and third was with actress Xochitl Gomez (2023).
He was teamed up with influencer Alix Earle in season 34, which premiered in September 2025 and concluded in December.
An insider told DailyMail last fall that the longtime professional dancer would have liked to be partnered with a more 'desirable' celebrity.
'Alix is fine… but he's jealous of the contestants who have great attitudes,' the source said.
