A US viewer of My Kitchen Rules has taken to social media with a list of complaints about the 2024 season of the hit cooking competition.

The Reddit user slammed the contestants for attempting to prepare American 'diner' food.

And they also threw shade on contestants Hannah and Lawrence.

''Babes' is the most abhorrent word ever,' the Stateside US MKR fan whined in the post, which appeared to refer to the fact that the Perth couple used the word during the show as a term of affection.

The user also 'defended' a popular American treat called Reese's Cups, a candy product made of chocolate with a peanut butter filling.

'Stop hating chocolate and peanut butter. Reese's cups are one of God's gifts to the world,' they thundered in the post.

They also had something to say about the way folks Down Under attempted to tackle famed American cuisine - even though no one this season attempted to dish up the US 'classic' chicken and waffles.

'Watching a bunch of Aussies attempting American diner food is hilarious,' the user said, which may have been a reference to Rob and Liam's dinner party.

That episode a dish of sticky pork ribs, and beef cheek tacos, though the US armchair was not specific in his critique about any recipes this season.

They coninued: 'I promise, chicken and waffles is amazing, especially when accompanied by fried green tomatoes.

'The most authentic would have been SOS, but that's even hard for some Americans to accept.'

SOS which means Sh** on a Shingle consists of creamed chipped beef on toast.

Finally the US MKR fan appeared to be bewildered as to why Aussies use a kettle to boil water.

'I still don't understand the electric kettle obsession. I guess it's because we drink a lot more coffee than tea.'

A helpful viewer joined the thread to offer an explanation over why many Aussies use a kettle.

'Here's the deal with kettles - American homes have 120V power, Aussies have 240V.

'A kettle is just a heated element in water. So the reason Yanks don't usually use kettles, is because they take FOREVER to boil on 120V power.

'An Aussie 240V kettle will boil literally twice as fast. And be dramatically more power efficient than other ways of heating water.'

Meanwhile, the same users appeared to agree with some of the US armchair critics complaints.

'Yep Aussies are bad at American food unfortunately.'

Another Reddit user also took a swipe at Aussie slang.

'Babes is truly the most annoying word.'

Quite a few other users got into a debate about US made chocolate and its international competitors.

'Reese's peanut butter cups are absolutely gross because American chocolate tastes disgusting. Have lived in the US but will never eat American chocolate ever again,' the Reddit user commented.

American chocolate is literally made of vomit, yuck you deserve better,' said another. 'Good chocolate and good peanut butter are great though.'

MKR has reached a wide US audience via streaming service Amazon Prime Video.
