Deadline reports that Eon and Amazon MGM are in early development on a remake of the classic adaptation of the beloved children’s novel about a magical car.
Scream 7
According to Deadline, Mckenna Grace has joined the cast of Scream 7 in an undisclosed role.
Jurassic World: Rebirth
Appearing as a guest on The Discourse Podcast, David Koepp stated Jurassic World: Rebirth‘s tone is “more akin to the very first” Jurassic Park.
I hope people like the movie because the series tended to change after three, and it felt like, ‘Okay, so let’s change our tone.’ Steven [Spielberg] and I were interested in a tone that was maybe more akin to the very first movie. I saw it early on as a mission movie. I like things that are driven by bottles, by containment, you know?
And so, developing a limited team and a thing that they have to accomplish – that was all really fun. And it was just fun to return to that world of great adventure backed by real science and write some cool new characters. You don’t often get a chance to have a blank slate and say, ‘What do you want to do? There were no franchise expectations other than dinosaurs.
Ash
Deadline has word Ash, the latest film from Flying Lotus, is now scheduled for a March 21 theatrical release. Set on the mysterious planet of Ash, the story concerns Riya (Eiza González), who “awakens to find her crew slaughtered. When Brion (Aaron Paul) arrives to rescue her, an ordeal of psychological and physical terror ensues while Riya and Brion must decide if they can trust one another to survive.”
Untitled Return of the Living Dead Project
Bloody-Disgusting has two teaser images from a Christmas-set entry in the Return of the Living Dead franchise said to receive an official announcement sometime later today. Steve Wolsh (Muck, Kill Her Goats) is attached to direct the project.

A man who can’t feel physical pain (Jack Quaid) sets out to rescue Amber Midthunder from kidnappers in the trailer for Novocaine.
Survive
Killer crabs inherit the planet after Earth’s magnetic poles shift in the latest trailer for Survive, available on VOD this January 10.
The Beauty
Variety reports Rebecca Hall, Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope will star in The Beauty, the latest series from Ryan Murphy at FX. The 11-episode series is said to be concern our “Modern society obsessed with outward beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more and more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is attainable. The vast majority of the population has taken advantage of it, but Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover it comes at a terrible price.”
Creature Commandos
Finally, Weasel’s origins are revealed in the trailer for “Chasing Squirrels” next week’s episode of Creature Commandos.
