At the end of the Untamed finale, Eric Bana’s Special Agent Kyle Turner was seen driving away from Yosemite National Park, where he had spent years, to start a new chapter.
Now Kyle’s destination has been officially revealed — and it involves air travel. Season 2 of the mystery thriller, from Warner Bros. TV and John Wells Prods., will take place in Hawaii, as a new case brings Kyle to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.
The new installment follows Special Agent Kyle Turner (Bana) as he’s called to investigate a mysterious death in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, where local tensions and the volatile, living landscape become an unpredictable force.
Unlike Season 1, which was filmed in Canada as stand-in for Yosemite, Season 2 will be shot in Hawaii where John Wells Prods. and WBTV recently did the Fox series Rescue HI-Surf. Like Season 1, it will consist of 6 episodes.
“We’re excited to explore the pristine landscapes and cultural identity of a very different national park, and find Turner in a new state of mind, outside the comfort of Yosemite,” series co-showrunners and executive producers Mark L. Smith & Elle Smith said.
Released July 17, 2025, Untamed debuted at #1 on the Netflix Global Top 10, remained in the top 10 for seven weeks and became the third most watched title on Netflix in the second half of 2025 with 92.8M views according to the streamer’s semi-annual report.
In light of the limited series’ ratings success, Untamed, was renewed for a second season. Executive producers include Mark L. Smith, Elle Smith, Eric Bana, John Wells and Erin Jontow via John Wells Productions; Todd Black and Tony Shaw for Escape Artists Entertainment, Steve Lee Jones for Bee Holder Productions; Cliff Roberts for Syndicate Entertainment
