Nedd Brockmann has revealed his attempts to get back into the dating pool recently were cut short when he was banned from the dating app Hinge.

The ultramarathon runner, 27, who previously dated personal trainer Jemma Griffin, revealed on Wednesday the 'embarrassing' reason he was booted from the app.

He told KIIS FM's Will & Woody his account was flagged by someone who didn’t believe it was really him, leading to his profile being banned.

'I got banned from Hinge... I didn't verify my account on Hinge and someone flagged it saying I was claiming to be me,' he explained.

'That actually happened to me,' host Thomas 'Woody' Whitelaw said.

'I was seriously going on Hinge and people thought I wouldn't be so desperate to go on Hinge.'

'So weird people contacted the radio station being like, there's a person masquerading as you and then I had to say, "It's actually me,"' he added.

'How embarrassing. I'm in the same boat,' Nedd laughed.

'I'm like, "How desperate are you, Nedd?" I might write a petition to Hinge. That is desperate.'

Nedd went on to explain it happened while he 'was in Perth'.

'I thought, I can't go to my Instagram to see who's in Perth. I was like, I better just go on Hinge and see if anyone's around. Yeah. Anyway, that's how it was.'

'I quite seriously want to turn this into a radio arc. Get Brockmann back on Hinge. You know Hinge are up for it,' Woody joked.

Nedd then hit back with a light-hearted comment, saying he would 'protest and try and get this interview scrapped from the network'.

The athlete was previously in a relationship with personal trainer Jemma Griffin, who supported him during his 47-day run across Australia in 2022.

However, the pair quietly parted ways at the end of 2023.

Nedd was recently awarded Young Australian of the Year 2026 in recognition of his extraordinary efforts in raising more than $10.6 million for homelessness in Australia.

The former electrician, from Forbes, New South Wales, ran close to 100km a day for 46 and a half days in 2022 to cross Australia coast-to-coast in an ultramarathon.

He later completed another charity run in 2024, running 1,000 miles around Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre.
