President Donald Trump is scheduled to announce $2.4 billion in technology-company commitments for scientific research at an October 8 summit in Washington, Bloomberg reported, citing the White House.
The contributions comprise AI tools and computing credits for the Genesis mission, which supports more than 15 federal agencies. They include $1 billion from Nvidia, $500 million from AMD, $200 million from OpenAI and $150 million each from Anthropic and Google.
The administration also plans more than $100 million for science, technology, engineering and mathematics education programs for American researchers.
Bloomberg reported that arrangements for allocating the pledged computing capacity to scientific users remained unclear amid strong demand for computing resources.
The summit is also set to honor executives including Jensen Huang, Lisa Su, Sergey Brin, Elon Musk and Michael Dell with national science or technology medals.
