True Blood star Ryan Kwanten nets $400k profit from Sydney studio apartment sale

Ryan Kwanten has sold his Northern Beaches investment property after 25 years of ownership.

The True Blood actor, 47, snapped up the home in 1999 when he was starring as lifeguard Vinnie Patterson on Home & Away.

He purchased the 28-square-metre studio apartment for a modest $162,000, just two years after his debut on the soap.

The ground floor apartment has sold for $550,000 after 78 days on the market, earning him around $400,000 in profit.

Situated south of Manly Wharf, the property has been recently repainted and carpeted. 

Meanwhile, the apartment complex itself features a swimming pool framed by tropical gardens.

But Kwanten isn't selling off all his property in the Sydney market. 

In 2017, the actor added a two-bedroom $1million apartment in Balgowlah to his investment portfolio, which he retains.

Ryan has been keeping a low profile since he portrayed heartthrob sheriff deputy Jason Stackhouse in True Blood from 2008 to 2014. 

However, in May, the Sydney-born actor was spotted filming his latest movie Primitive War on a jungle set just outside the Gold Coast in Queensland.

The former Home and Away hunk looked almost unrecognisable in the snaps, donning an army camouflage outfit and matching boots.

He was later spotted filming a scene with Lucifer star Tricia Helfer, 50, and Revenge actor Nick Wechsler, 45, and the trio looked like seasoned professionals as they navigated the challenging environment.

Primitive War is helmed by Bring Him to Me director Luke Sparke and is an adaptation of Ethan Pettus' popular book series of the same name.

After starring in the hugely popular HBO series True Blood, Kwanten has dropped off the radar and almost entirely wiped his social media presence.

He was spotted during a public outing in 2022, when he enjoyed breakfast in the Sydney suburb of Manly with his family and fiancée Ashley Sisino after jetting in from Los Angeles.

The veteran actor had a boom in his career when he moved to LA following his stint on Home and Away, and landed on HBO's hit series True Blood from 2008 to 2014.

Since True Blood, Ryan has worked in a slew of movies and television series, with his IMDB showing multiple works being released every year.

Recently, he teamed up with Australian director Ivan Sen on Mystery Road and Expired, with the latter featuring Hugo Weaving and Jillian Nguyen.

Despite his apparent non-stop flow of work, Ryan has rarely been spotted in the media or online, choosing to keep much of his work and personal life private.
