TRON now supported in Bitcoin.com Wallet for direct asset access

3 days ago 12

Bitcoin.com has added native TRON network support to its self-custody wallet app, letting users hold, send, receive, swap, and buy TRC20 tokens without needing a separate wallet or bridging tool. The update is live across iOS, Android, and web platforms.

It’s a meaningful expansion for a wallet that has generated over 85 million wallets since launching in 2015. And it taps into what has quietly become one of the busiest highways in crypto: TRON’s stablecoin corridor.

Why TRON, and why now

TRON’s network currently carries over $90 billion in circulating USDT and processes roughly $23 billion in daily transfer volume. Those numbers make it the dominant chain for Tether activity, particularly in emerging markets where low fees and fast finality matter more than decentralization philosophy.

The network has also crossed some notable milestones. More than 399 million total accounts have been created on TRON, with over 15 billion transactions recorded. Total value locked sits above $28 billion.

Bitcoin.com CEO Corbin Fraser has framed the integration as a response to user demand for seamless stablecoin management. TRON founder Justin Sun has positioned the partnership as a step toward broader accessibility for everyday payments.

What users actually get

The integration covers the full suite of wallet functionality. Users can hold TRX (TRON’s native token) and any TRC20-compliant token, with the headline asset obviously being USDT on TRON.

Swaps are supported directly within the app. So is purchasing TRC20 assets, presumably through Bitcoin.com’s existing fiat on-ramp partnerships. The key selling point is that none of this requires leaving the Bitcoin.com Wallet interface or downloading an additional app.

Bitcoin.com prepared for the rollout by publishing support documentation in its help center ahead of the launch. For a self-custody product serving tens of millions of wallets, that kind of groundwork matters.

The multi-chain wallet race heats up

Bitcoin.com isn’t the first major wallet to add TRON support. MetaMask and WalletConnect both integrated TRON back in January 2026, a move that signaled the network’s growing legitimacy among infrastructure providers that had historically been Ethereum-centric.

For traders and more active users, the integration also opens up access to TRON’s low-fee environment. Sending USDT on TRON costs a fraction of what the same transaction would cost on Ethereum’s mainnet, a difference that compounds meaningfully for anyone making frequent transfers.
