EXCLUSIVE: CBS and CBS Studios are reassembling the Ghosts pilot creative team for their vampire comedy pilot Eternally Yours, with director Trent O’Donnell joining writers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. In addition to directing the pilot, O’Donnell has re-upped his first-look deal with CBS Studios.

O’Donnell directed the pilot for Ghosts, written by Port and Wiseman, which went to series. He served as director/executive producer on the first three seasons of the popular paranormal comedy — on which Port and Wiseman are executive producers and showrunners — and also directed an episode last season.

Written by Port and Wiseman, Eternally Yours is an eternal love story about two vampires, Liz (Allegra Edwards) and Charles (Ed Weeks), who have been married for five hundred years, and their struggles to accept the human, Max (Jaren Lewison), who is dating their daughter, Emma (Helen J Shen).

The pilot’s main cast also includes Parker Young. Port and Wiseman executive produce alongside Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang.

Under the new pact, O’Donnell will create, develop and produce projects for the studio.

Known for his work in both the U.S. and Australia, O’Donnell has a long history with CBS Studios. He co-created with Patrick Brammall the studio’s series No Activity for Paramount+ predecessor CBS All Access. In addition to Ghosts, he directed the pilots and serves as a series director/executive producer on CBS comedy DMV and Paramount+’s, Colin From Accounts, which is slated to begin production shortly on its third season.

Outside of CBS Studios, O’Donnell is directing ABC comedy pilot Do You Want Kids? Additionally, he directed and executive produced the premiere episode of Sunny Nights for Hulu, the premiere of Good Cop/Bad Cop for the CW, and the pilot episode of Going Dutch for Fox. He also directed the pilot for Peacock’s reboot of Saved by the Bell, all episodes of The Letdown for Netflix, and was executive producer and director on Guilty Party starring Kate Beckinsale. O’Donnell is repped by UTA, Mosaic and Sloane, Offer, Weber, Dern.
