Tom Holland's Spider-Man movie that scored 92% on Rotten Tomatoes has found a new streaming home, and that makes it a must-watch this weekend. Spider-Man is without a doubt one of the most instantly recognizable superheroes in pop culture history, and he's fared quite well on the big screen. However, he was absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years.
Due to some complicated rights issues, Spider-Man didn't appear in the first two phases of the MCU, but joined the extended universe for the first time in Captain America: Civil War in 2016. After that, he starred in three standalone films (with a fourth coming later in 2026), and also swung by for several crossover films.
The current era of Spider-Man movies is the longest to date, and Holland has earned a legion of fans for his down-to-earth portrayal of Peter Parker and his wall-crawling alter-ego. MCU movies are always in demand, so they are perfect movies to watch on streaming.
Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Homecoming Is Streaming On Peacock
In a rare jump from the MCU's Disney+ exclusivity, Tom Holland's debut Spider-Man movie is now streaming on Peacock. Spider-Man: Homecoming is Holland's first full outing in the role after his cameo in Civil War. It catches up with Peter after his first Avengers experience as he tries to balance his life as a teen and his newfound superhero status.
Instead of retreading Spider-Man's origin story once again, Homecoming drops viewers right into the action. He takes on his classic enemy, Vulture, though the movie's plot really revolves around Peter's personal struggles. In that way, Spider-Man's MCU debut is the closest any film has come to capturing the essence of the comic books.
As for why Spider-Man: Homecoming is on Peacock, it's because the film is a co-production between Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios. The latter studio doesn't have complete control over the film, thus it often bounces around to different streamers. All three of Tom Holland's Spider-Man flicks stream in places other than Disney+.
Why Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Homecoming Is Worth Watching
Besides being a great film, there are other reasons to watch Homecoming. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day coming in July, there's never been a better time to catch up on the character's entire MCU arc. The writers have done an excellent job of building the films atop one another, so it's important to get the full scope of Holland's run.
Perhaps less obviously, a rewatch of Spider-Man: Homecoming is a good way to see how far the character has come. Taking a page from the classic stories in the comics, Spider-Man has grown significantly since he debuted in Civil War. Watching Homecoming on Peacock offers a chance at some nostalgia, and hearkens back to the golden age of the MCU.
