Hannah Gearan (she/her) is has been writing for ScreenRant for over three years. Her deep cinema love traces back to age 11, when she equipped herself with a spiral-bound notebook, rated all the films she watched, and declared herself a critic. About a decade later, she received a BA from Wesleyan University, where she studied Film, Environmental Studies, and Writing. Hannah’s short film, Toxic Faucets, has screened at numerous film festivals, including the Independent Film Festival of Boston (IFFBoston). As a Movie News writer now, she draws upon her vast experience studying, making, and analyzing film as she approaches dynamic breaking stories.

Tom Hardy's MobLand has been elevated after its mid-season point.

Created by Guy Ritchie, MobLand is a series about two feuding English crime families who will do just about anything to take the other down, even when the consequences are catastrophic. In addition to Hardy playing fixer Harry Da Souza, the show features a leading cast including Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Anson Boon, and Lara Pulver. After a successful season 1 last year, the Paramount+ show returned for a second season in mid-September, and continues airing episodes weekly on Fridays through November 20.

Now, MobLand season 2 is recovering in the audience's eyes on Rotten Tomatoes. Following the release of the sixth episode, the show has a 78% Popcornmeter from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes. This is an increase from the MobLand Rotten Tomatoes debut, where the series had a 68% score. Among critics, the sophomore season is Certified Fresh, with a 90% Tomatometer to its name.

At this point, this means MobLand season 2's scores are even higher than its first season. The premiere installment still sits at a 68% Popcornmeter among audiences, and still a Certified Fresh but lower 77% Tomatometer from critics. This is a great point of growth for MobLand. After all, its first season was successful enough to draw viewers in and get it renewed for a second season. Moving up from there is a great sign for its longevity beyond the end of this season and the already confirmed MobLand season 3.

Season 2's overall growth on Rotten Tomatoes also maps onto the season's episode-by-episode scores on IMDb. After debuting at an 8.2 out of 10 for the season's first episode, the next episodes have reached even better heights, getting up to an 8.5 out of 10 score in season 2, episode 4. Now, the first five of MobLand season 2's episodes sit among the top 10 highest-rated episodes of the series overall so far.

Historically, episodes of MobLand have gained steam like this as time goes on. The season 1 finale is currently its top-rated episode on IMDb with an 8.6 out of 10 score, and the season's seventh episode comes in at no. 2. As in the first season, tensions are building up more with time in season 2, leading to greater intrigue. If MobLand season 2 goes in a similar direction, these last four episodes are about to get big IMDb scores.
