Tom Hardy and Guy Ritchie looked serious as they shot scenes for their upcoming crime drama The Associate.

Written by Ronan Bennett, The Associate is executive produced by the Venom star, 47, with some episodes directed by gangster filmmaker Guy.

Tom also stars in the series as the titular 'associate' Harry Da Souza, who works as a fixer for the Harrigan family.

Filming is currently underway in London for the series - which has been referenced under two different working titles, The Associate and Fixer.

Long-time friends Tom and Guy were spotted filming together on the streets of London on Saturday.

The filming snaps come after the production suffered a blow back in November when camera equipment was robbed by thieves in broad daylight.

In the snaps of the new scenes, Tom and Guy reached a compromise as they managed to feature both of their preferred car makes in the shots.

Guy, a loyal fan of Range Rovers, and Tom, an Audi enthusiast, ensured both luxury vehicles featured prominently, with the director arriving in a sleek Range Rover, while the actor took the wheel of an Audi.

In other snaps, Tom was seen coming out of a building with the sign 'Moody's Boxing Gym'.

Plans for Ronan and Guy's new series were first revealed this year, with the Lock Stock director also signing up Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan to star in it.

The synopsis says it will follow the story of 'two generations of gangsters, the businesses they run, the complex relationships they weave, and the man they call upon to fix their problems'.

It comes after thieves managed to escape with the film set's camera equipment, while production crew and security were on site in London.

It was reported in November that two men in Toyota Prius distracted people by asking for directions before speeding off with the expensive equipment.

Speaking about the incident, a source told The Sun: 'Their questions distracted people and at that moment, the other bloke jumped out and grabbed a bag of camera equipment that was on the side of the road.

'He jumped back in the car and they sped off. The security guards started going bananas because they'd basically been robbed in broad daylight. It was pretty embarrassing and a costly mistake. The kit on those films isn't cheap.'

And in December, it was revealed that Tom recently offered to pay the wages of an entire TV set crew on the new Guy Ritchie series after a construction company went into liquidation.

But around 50 freelance building workers were left devastated after Helix 3D, the construction company contracted to build sets, went bust, The Times reported.

It is said that the company then refused to pay out £250,000 of wages ahead of Christmas, and its chief executive Brian Dowling sent out the devastating message last week saying their pay would likely not be in their accounts before the New Year.

It wasn't until star Tom stepped in and offered to pay the workers' wages that Paramount resolved the situation and set about sorting their paychecks.

TA source close to Tom told The Times: 'He offered to [pay], but the production and Paramount have sorted the payment.'

Meanwhile a Paramount source said they were 'outraged' at the situation and plans were in place to make sure the workers were paid.

In a letter seen by the publication, organising official for the broadcasting union Bectu, Chris Hudson, said: 'Our members deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and compensated on time for their work.

'It is wholly unacceptable that they are facing significant financial precarity, particularly ahead of Christmas.

'This close to Christmas, our members are rightly very distressed, with many fearing they will be unable to cover necessities.'
