Tom Hanks' nepo baby son Chet rescued STOLEN dog from side of the road... and A-lister loves the new addition

Chet Hanks has revealed the heroic rescue story behind the new dog who has captured his heart. 

Chet, 35, the son of superstars Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, is the new owner of a dog named Queen, a pooch he found on the side of the road in Marina del Rey, California. 

Now Chet has revealed more details behind the heroic rescue in an interview with The Daily Mail.

'I found her by the side of the road, she was going to get hit by a car if someone didn't step in,' Chet told The Daily Mail at Clarins' Sugar & Shine Galentine's Affair last week.

'So I pulled over, I got her. She didn't have a collar, so I took her to get scanned for a microchip, and she did.'

Unbeknownst to him, the dog had been stolen from his original owner - who allowed Chet to keep her as she had relocated out of the state. 

'So I called the woman who the number popped up on the microchip. I said, "I found your dog." She was really emotional, she said "That dog was stolen from me." I was like, "Well, I could give her back." 

'And she's like, "I don't even live in California anymore. It's better off for you." So I'm like, I'll give the dog a happy home. And yeah, we're in love. We're in love.'

Now Queen is being ingratiated into his new owner's life.

When asked if he had introduced Queen to his parents and other friends and family, Chet said his dog had met 'everybody.'  

'Yes, I've introduced her to everybody, and she's the sweetest dog.  Everybody loves her.'

Chet first asked his Instagram followers for help in identifying the dog's owner when he first found Queen on the side of the road back in December.

The original owner told Chet the dog had been stolen from her six months earlier when she was experiencing homelessness. 

But now the dog has found her forever home with loving owner Chet. 

On New Year's Eve, he shared video of him cuddling and kissing Queen on his couch.

'I love you,' he told the sleepy dog. 'She's the best.' 

Hanks was among a number of stars celebrating the Galentine's Day with Clarins at Cucina Alba in Los Angeles last Thursday.

The bash, thrown to spotlight their iconic Lip Perfector gloss, was held two weeks before the romantic holiday.

Chet has been doing well with his showbiz career. 

He stars in the Kate Hudson-led Netflix series Running Point as point guard and aspiring rapper Travis Bugg.   

Chet is also a member of the country duo Something Out West, and last year his famous father appeared in a music video recreating the actor's Forrest Gump film for their song You Better Run. 

Chet is one of Tom's four children. 

The Big star, 69, is dad to Colin, 48, and Elizabeth, 43, with his first wife, Samantha Lewes, as well as Chet and Truman, 30, with Rita.
