Proton VPN's lowest price of 2025 ends today. Its two-year plan is currently available for only $2.49 per month, as opposed to its regular price of $3.59. Over the 24-month period, that saves you around $30!

If you're after a shorter deal, its 12-month deal is only $4.32 per month but, since a 2-year deal is only $8 or so more, it's probably worth grabbing the longer deal.

Proton isn't the only top VPN that has a deal expiring soon. Our exclusive NordVPN deal ends today, ExpressVPN's all-time-low price is on the way out, and it's likely we'll see our best cheap VPN, Surfshark, return to its regular pricing soon, too.

If you're stuck for which to pick, that's understandable. In short, our testing currently shows that NordVPN is the best VPN overall, while Proton, Surfshark, and ExpressVPN make up three of the four remaining spots in our top five.

Proton VPN is a great option if you're looking for watertight privacy. It's based in Switzerland, offers top security protocols, has audits backing all of its privacy and security claims, and goes to great lengths with its infrastructure to ensure maximum privacy for all of your data.

Surfshark is a great option if you're on a tight budget. It offers fewer locations than the likes of NordVPN or Proton, but it offers great speeds and some cool additional features to help with your day-to-day online safety.

ExpressVPN is a more premium alternative. It's normally by far the most expensive VPN among our top five, but its current deal means its only more expensive than Surfshark. It offers superb security credentials, apps for every platform, and some absolutely mind-boggling speeds on its Lightway Turbo protocol, too.
