Timothee Chalamet enjoyed a night out with a pal in Los Angeles ahead of the highly anticipated Academy Awards.

The 30-year-old actor, who was nominated in the Best Actor category at the Oscars for his performance in Marty Supreme, was spotted heading to dinner on Saturday night.

He put on a casual display and kept a low-profile in a baseball cap as he joined a friend to treat themselves to Japanese BBQ at Manpuku in West Hollywood.

The Dune star dressed for comfort and stepped out in a gray windbreaker jacket with a high, zip-up neckline.

He also sported a dark blue baseball cap with a bright orange design, which appeared to be a Marty Supreme reference.

Chalamet, who has fans anticipating whether he will bring along his girlfriend Kylie Jenner to the Oscars, has been in the midst of controversy while campaigning for a golden statuette.

While on the campaign trail during awards season, Chalamet recently made a blunder and sparked backlash for his unfiltered comments about ballet and opera.

Many stars, including filmmaker legend Steven Spielberg, have since criticized the young actor for making a clumsy swipe at the traditional arts.

Since then, insiders have also exclusively told the Daily Mail about a 'Stop Timmy' campaign that has been gathering steam ahead of Chalamet's chance to win an Oscar.

Over the years, Chalamet has received a total of four Academy Award nominations.

He was nominated for Call Me By Your Name in 2018 and A Complete Unknown in 2025.

He also earned nods for Marty Supreme in both the Best Actor and Best Picture categories as he was also credited as a producer on the film.

Chalamet has since surpassed Marlon Brando to become the youngest actor to receive three leading star Oscar nominations

His latest chance to land the trophy, however, has been tainted by his backlash-stirring comments from a recent interview.

He appeared to be in bright spirits even with Hollywood's biggest night closely on the horizon and amid the controversy following his clumsy comments about ballet and opera

During his chat with Matthew McConaughey for Variety's Actors on Actors, Chalamet said he hoped that the film industry and movie theaters are able to survive.

He then said: 'I don't want to be working in ballet or opera or, you know, things where it's like: "Hey, keep this thing alive," even though no one cares about this anymore.

'All respect to the ballet and opera people out there,' he continued before adding, 'I just lost 14 cents in viewership. I just took shots for no reason.'

Chalamet's dig at opera and ballet came when he and McConaughey were discussing the Hollywood figures who make public statements in support of movie theaters.

'I admire people, and I've done it myself, doing a talk show about how we've got to keep movie theatres alive, you know, we've got to keep this genre alive,' he said.

'And another part of me feels like, if people want to see it, like Barbie, like Oppenheimer, they're going to go see it and go out of their way to be loud and proud about it,' he added, noting opera and ballet do not have that mainstream audience.

When he then apologized for the 'shot' he had taken at the art form, McConaughey said: 'That's not a shot, I hear what you're saying.'

His comments drew outrage from theatrical personalities ranging from ballerina Misty Copeland to legend of stage and screen Nathan Lane as well as three-time Oscar winner Spielberg.
