Timothée Chalamet was mobbed by a crowd of adoring fans as he arrived at the Marty Supreme pop-up shop in Paris on Wednesday.

The Hollywood star, 30, has been hard at work promoting the critically-acclaimed film over the past few months, including setting up a slew of stores to sell merchandise, such as the viral limited-edition jacket.

Fresh off his attendance at the French premiere on Tuesday night, Timothée surprised delighted fans at the temporary shop in the capital.

The American-French actor graciously handed out autographs, posed for photos and chatted to the excited crowd queuing outside.

He looked as effortlessly cool as ever, sporting a trendy oversized jacket, baggy jeans and suede Gucci boots, retailing for a steep £1,140.

Flashing a wide grin, Timothée hid his eyes behind a pair of shades and wrapped up with a polka dot neckerchief, still sporting his facial hair from the film.

The Dune star plays the titular character in the sports drama, loosely modelled on Marty Reisman, who pursues his dream of becoming a champion table-tennis player.

During the promotional trail for the film, pop-up shops have been opened in in New York, Los Angeles, London and São Paulo, to sell Marty Supreme-themed clothing made by the LA-based menswear brand Nahmias.

And Wednesday's Parisian pop-up appeared to run much smoother than the London and LA affairs did last year, which both descended into chaos.

The crowd queuing at the LA sale in December ended up growing so large that the police were called, with the first responding officers even requesting back up.

In a clip of the chaos shared on social media, the queue could be seen spreading all the way down the road and round the corner as fans waited for hours to get their hands on the products.

A woman was then seen coming out and shouting: 'If you don't have a ticket, you're not getting in. You're welcome to stay in line, we will not let you in unless you have a  ticket.'

The announcement caused unhappy fans to begin shouting as others tried to push past, with staff eventually bringing out barriers to contain the queue.

The LAPD told TMZ that 'officers responded to a large group at 1:53 PM, and when officers arrived, they requested additional units'.

However the police eventually left with no arrests made and the merch sale was allowed to continue.

Yet, just five days later, there were similar chaotic scenes at the London shop, after a crowd of young men began shoving each other and pushing metal railings to the floor in the rush to get their hands on limited edition items.

Alarming footage from the opening day of the makeshift store in Holborn showed security struggling to contain the chaotic crowd - some of whom had queued up for as long as 17 hours.

The majority of the group appeared to be scalpers rather than superfans however, desperate to snap up the one-of-a-kind jackets and sweatshirts in order to sell them online for an extortionate price.

Videos shared on social media showed a number of 'grown men' in tracksuits and puffer jackets aggressively pushing their way closer.

One recording sees one man jump over the barriers, while others slam up against the railings - causing someone to shout out in pain as a few of the culprits appear to laugh.

While the police eventually had to make an appearance according to GQ Magazine, due to what one attendee described as 'lots of fights' and 'too many people'.

There was also reportedly a separate waiting area that emerged for women, girls and disabled people due to the main queue being 'unsafe'.

The main item of interest was a £250 Marty Supreme-branded windbreaker with a white version for London that had the word 'England' on the back.

Many of the coveted jackets were snapped up and swiftly uploaded to eBay on sale for the likes of £1,200.

While Timothée made a surprise appearance at 2pm, causing many of his fans nearer to the back of the queue to run after him.
