Tilly Ramsay follows in her famous father Gordon's footsteps as the proud dad takes her shopping to buy her first chef's uniform for culinary school

For decades she has watched her father cook on television, and now Tilly Ramsay is following in her dad’s footsteps and heading to culinary school.

The 22-year-old took to her Instagram on Tuesday to reveal Gordon had taken her to buy her first chef's uniform and all her equipment ready to start her training.

Sharing a snap of her donning a white chef's jacket and trying on several pairs of black clogs, Tilly gushed she was 'so excited for this next chapter'.

She wrote: 'So I went a different kind of uniform shopping yesterday.... @gordangram took me out to buy my first chef whites as I am off to culinary school this September!! 

'I am so excited for this next chapter and dad and I had the most exciting day getting all my uniform and equipment. P.s I think this look is kind of a vibe'.

Culinary schools comes as the natural next step for Tilly, after she has already shown an affinity for cooking and built an impressive career as a budding chef.

Her famous father Gordon, 57, is well known for the likes of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Hell’s Kitchen, Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip and Kitchen Nightmares. 

And showing the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Tilly has starred on several cooking shows and even published her own cookbook when she was just 15.

In 2015, she bagged her own cooking show on CBBC, called Matilda And The Ramsay Bunch, following her as she whipped up dishes for her family on holiday and running until 2019.

She also appeared alongside Gordon on This Morning in a series of cooking segments called Big Chef Little Chef, and was judge on the ninth season of MasterChef Junior with her dad.

While she also competed in series two of Celebrity MasterChef Australia, finishing in second place.

In 2021, Tilly swapped the kitchen for the dancefloor as she competed in Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin.

The youngster boasts 1.2 million followers on Instagram and already has experience with culinary school, having been heavily involved in The Gordon Ramsay Academy - owned by her dad - teaching lessons such as how to make overnight oats.

While in January, Deadline reported she had landed her own show on Amazon Prime, called Dish It Out, seeing her get a mystery box of ingredients from chefs each episode, that she then has to use to create a recipe.

Speaking about her passion for cooking in March, Tilly admitted that she had been heavily inspired by Gordon to pursue a career in food.

She told PEOPLE: 'I remember watching him work in the kitchen at home because he used to film quite a bit there.

'And then he slowly started giving me the whisk or giving me the spoon and saying, "You need to measure something."

'I just remember having so much fun in there with him. And at this point I was like, "Wow, I really want to be like you one day".'

She added of their bond: 'We are constantly sending each other new recipes on Instagram that we see and discussing them'.

Tilly's next educational chapter comes just weeks after she celebrated her graduation from university as the end of July.

She managed to gain a upper second class Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from The University of Nottingham.

And she was joined by her proud parents Gordon and Tana and older sister Holly on her big day to celebrate her achievement.

Gordon took to his Instagram to gush that he was the 'happiest dad in the world', as he shared photos of Tilly in her traditional black cap and gown.

In the caption, the celebrity chef gushed: 'She's Done it ! Can't explain enough how proud we are of this one honestly with everything you've been up against and to see you graduate today with a psychology BSc makes me the happiest Dad in the World congratulations darling well done @tillyramsay'.

While longtime friend of the Ramsays, David Beckham took to the comments to congratulate Tilly, writing: 'Well done Tilly we are so so proud ❤️❤️'.

And Holly, 24, took to her Instagram Stories to celebrate her sister's hard work paying off, sharing a sweet snap of Tilly with the caption: 'The most beautiful graduate. So incredibly proud of you'.
