TikToker Hannah Hiatt Under Investigation After Video of Her Son Goes Viral
Hannah Hiatt wasn't afraid to admit motherhood isn't always easy.
Less than a month before it was revealed police opened an investigation into the influencer over allegations of child mistreatment, Hannah—who rose to fame for her video showing the 17 dirty diapers she had strewn around her house in October—got candid about struggling to "solo parent" for a day while her husband went to jury duty.
"Being a solo parent just for a day or a few days, or whatever it may be," Hannah shared in a Nov. 21 TikTok video, "it's fricken hard."
For the TikToker, being left alone to take care of her and her husband's two young kids—2-year-old James and their 2-month-old baby whose name has not been revealed—can be especially hard when she needs a moment to "be you."
"There are so many times in the day where I just shove my kids to my husband and say, 'You deal with them, I'm going upstairs' or 'I'm going outside' or 'I'm going on a drive,' or whatever it may be,'" Hannah explained. "But when you're a solo parent or a single parent, you can't do that. It is you all day, every day, all night. And going onto the next day, it's just you."
Acknowledging that most single moms and dads "don't choose" to raise their children on their own, she highlighted how lucky she felt to not be permanently in that position. As Hannah put it, "I seriously can't imagine being a single parent."
"If you are a solo parent out there—solo mom or a solo dad, single, solo or whatever it may be—double pat on the back," she added, "because I sure as heck can't do that."
In December, police confirmed to People that they had opened an investigation into Hannah due to receiving "numerous reports through Child Protective Service and police."

News of the investigation arrived shortly after the mommy blogger faced a slew of online allegations of mistreatment against her son when she shared a since-deleted TikTok video of James sitting in the child seat of a cart during a trip to the grocery store. In the clip, the toddler threw his hands up over his face when his dad walked toward him.
In response to the video, fans said that James seemed to be "flinching" and appeared "terrified" of Hannah and her husband—an accusation Hannah has since denied.
"They're healthy, well-nourished," she said of her children in a Nov. 30 TikTok video. "They're running around playing. That should be a pretty good indicator that everything's just fine."
And Hannah spoke out in defense of her husband as well, insisting that he and James have the "strongest father-son bond."
"My husband is the sweetest, nicest, kindest, most-loving, most-nurturing father in the entire world," Hannah added. "He's on the ground playing with James like 90 percent of the day."
