Tiffany Salmond finally reveals the reason why she was iced out of her plum NRL presenting role at Fox Sports: THE DEBRIEF

Tiffany Salmond has finally broken her silence on the mystery surrounding her shock Fox Sports axing, claiming her career was derailed not by a network decision but by one powerful figure operating behind the scenes.

In an explosive interview on Daily Mail's podcast The Debrief with Savanna Young, the former NRL presenter revealed for the first time what she believes really happened in the weeks leading up to her abrupt exit from the broadcaster.

Tiffany, 28, had become one of Fox Sports' fastest-rising stars, building a devoted following through her NRL coverage and emerging as one of the network's most recognisable on-air personalities.

That is why her sudden disappearance from screens last year left fans and industry figures shocked and confused.

At the time, viewers were left wondering what had happened while insiders were scrambling for answers.

As rumours swirled, no official explanation was ever issued.

Now, Tiffany is telling her side of the story. And she says the public got it completely wrong.

'The reason that there has been no justification and no official comment, statement or defence is because there isn't one,' she said.

For months, many assumed Tiffany was bitter over a routine business decision. But she says that couldn't be further from the truth.

'People believe I've spoken out against a standard corporate network business decision to dump me,' she said.

'They think that's what I'm reacting to ... but that's not what happened.'

Instead, Tiffany alleges her fate was sealed by a single individual with enough influence to make it happen. 

'This wasn't a network decision. It was a personally motivated decision by someone in a position of authority to make that decision,' she alleged.

In the full interview, Tiffany detailed why she believes the move was personal, the events that unfolded behind closed doors, and the clue that convinced her exactly who was responsible.

She also claims the decision blindsided not only her, but people inside Fox Sports itself.

'Their own team was blindsided. Their own management below them was blindsided,' she said.

Tiffany was repeatedly led to believe her future with the network remained secure.

Even after missing out on a role covering rugby league in New Zealand, she says she was assured she remained part of Fox Sports' talent plans.

'[It] was completely opposite to what I was being told,' she said.

The bombshell came when she discovered reports about her fate in the media before receiving any direct explanation herself. 

'I woke up one morning and read it with everyone else.'

The fallout, she says, was immediate.

Without any public explanation for her departure, speculation quickly swirled, leaving her battling rumours and questions about what had happened behind the scenes.

'It put this dark cloud over, "What happened? What did she do?"'

But behind closed doors, Tiffany insists there was never any mystery. 

'I knew exactly why it was happening,' she said.

'I knew it was that one person.'
