Tiffany Haddish leaves courtroom in hysterics with a VERY sassy remark as she avoids jail time over DUI charge

Tiffany Haddish left a Georgia courtroom in hysterics as she vowed 'never' to return to the Peach State before abruptly exiting the hearing. 

An exasperated Haddish, 46, appeared in court virtually on Tuesday to put an end to her DUI drama, pleading guilty to a misdemeanor alcohol-related driving charge.

But her years-long legal ordeal ended in a moment that could have been straight out of her comedy films.

Haddish first passionately insisted she would 'never' return to the state before hilariously exiting the virtual court room. 

'Have a great day, you're welcome back to Georgia anytime,' Haddish was told before she abruptly jumped in.

'No I'm never coming back! No more Georgia! No more!' she insisted. 

As the judge proceeded to thank her for her time, Haddish abruptly left the meeting room – causing the courtroom to laugh as her face vanished from the screen. 

The actress addressed the hearing later in the day during a comedy show in Los Angeles, revealing she chose to wear a blonde wig as she wanted to emulate Mariah Carey from Precious.

An insider exclusively revealed to The Daily Mail that Haddish told the crowd: 'It was funny because the courtroom was packed full of people that thought I was going to come in and then they didn't  see me in there. ... and boom! I popped up on the screen in the Zoom.

'And I tried my best to look like Mariah Carey out of that movie "Precious." I wanted to look like a stressed out social worker, just ready to give up on life.'

She continued: 'I put a wig on and then I saw myself in the camera and I said "uh uh this look too good."

But after putting a filter on the screen, 'People is like, "is she drunk right now!?" No. Just f***ing tired of this goddamn case.' 

Haddish admitted to 'DUI driving less safe' in a plea deal that allowed her to avoid jail time.

Her sentence includes one year of probation and the suspension of her driving privileges in the state of Georgia.

She must also 'complete a DUI course and 40 hours of community service,' according to TMZ.

She is also ordered to stay away from drugs and alcohol and submit to testing. 

Haddish must 'periodically' report to probation officials by phone but that requirement may be under review after six months, the outlet reports.

She was arrested in the early hours of January 14, 2022, in Peachtree City, Georgia, after authorities were contacted about a driver on a highway sleeping at the wheel.

The actress was pulled over as she stopped in the yard of a home and taken into custody, Peachtree City Police said in a news release at the time.

She was taken to the Fayette County Jail and released after she posted $1,666 bond.

In May of this year, attorneys for Haddish submitted a request to a Georgia court to have her DUI arrest dismissed.

In a court filing reviewed by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Haddish's attorneys argued that the star's constitutional right to a speedy trial had been breached with delays in the case, in requesting it be scuttled.

Her legal team said that the slow pace of the case had been 'presumptively prejudicial' by Georgia legal statutes.

At the time of the filing, the court had still not entered any orders more than two years after a motion to suppress hearing was conducted May 2, 2024, according to Haddish's legal team

Prosecutors in Georgia twice last year filed motions to continue the case, in March and then May, lawyers for Haddish said in the filing.

They claimed they had declared themselves 'ready for trial' on at least 10 occasions, and followed up with the court on 12 occasions to flag the undetermined rulings.

Lawyers representing the star said she had missed out on 'financial compensation' of lost business opportunities due to the case being considered open.

The outstanding case had also complicated the star's efforts to gain travel clearances to film in Australia, her attorneys told the court.

'She has had difficulty obtaining the proper travel documents to work in certain countries that see a pending case as a concern; most recently Australia, within the past couple of months,' attorneys for Haddish said in the filing, the paper reported.

They noted that Haddish 'has had to hire costly third-party help to navigate those challenges with her travel.'

Haddish's legal team said that time was a critical element in the case, as memories became less reliable with the passage of time.

Haddish's legal team said the 'she respectfully requests that the court find that this substantial delay without any apparent justification was in violation of her constitutional rights to a speedy trial under the United States and Georgia Constitutions and that the accusation against her be dismissed.'

Haddish was again arrested in connection with DUI less than two years later, the latter coming on November 24, 2023, in Beverly Hills, California.

In that incident, police said they found her sleeping in her automobile with the engine running, which was on Beverly Drive at the time. The latter led to a charge of improper stopping on a roadway.

Authorities said they believed Haddish was under the influence of marijuana at the time.

She ultimately took a plea deal in which she admitted to a charge of reckless driving, receiving probation.
